Every gallon of heating oil we delivery is treated with HEAT DOC fuel additive that helps keep internals of furnaces clean and fuel stabile. However, those of you that have outside tanks should be using SZP every time you get a delivery. ALL YEAR ROUND. Adding SZP to HEAT DOC is like putting HEAT DOC on steroids that will eliminate all issues of condensation/water that is more prone to happen in outside tanks. Have an outside tank? Use SZP year round so you can stay warm all winter! :)

Moisture is the number one contaminant in fuel. Once products leave the refinery, they are susceptible to moisture contamination throughout the supply chain, despite our industry's best efforts to stop it. Bottom line? Be aware that your oil storage containers/tanks act like lungs, breathing in and out, year round, with changing temperatures. If you're not taking action, actively sticking tanks and keeping a sharp eye on fuel housekeeping, you could be creating a harsh breed...ing ground of bacteria, acetic acid, and formation of sludge.
