A little pre Thanksgiving recovery work Wednesday. I promised the guys I would buy them the best cheese steak in Pennsylvania afterwards. Maybe next time. They were closed for the holiday. Happy Thanksgiving.

We were saddened last week to learn of 2 tow truck drivers who were killed while picking up a vehicle on the highway. One was in PA and one in Ohio. This is qui...te distressing that these two men where doing their job and were struck and killed needlessly. Do you know that Pennsylvania and all states have a "Steer Clear" or "Move Over" Law? Please remember under Pennsylvania's Steer Clear Law, motorists are required to move at least one lane away from the incident, which could be an accident, traffic stop or a disabled vehicle. Emergency responders can include: law enforcement, tow truck operators, Department of Transportation vehicles involved in emergency assistance, fire/EMS vehichles and personnel as well as other emergency personnel or vehicles. There have been FIVE emergency responders struck and killed in the first 21 day of July and now 27 emergency responders (11 police, 11 tow operators, 3 fire/ems, 2 SSP operators) struck and killed by motorists not moving over, not slowing down, driving to fast, or being a D’ Driver (drunk, drugged, drowsy, distracted or just plain dumb). Remember, when you come upon the scene of an emergency, give our first responders plenty of room to do their job and do it safely. Slow down when you come upon a scene, and be sure that you are not distracted by your phone. That call or text can wait till you get to your destination or a rest area. Be alert and slow down in work zones or accident scenes. We want all our first responders to be safe and go home at the end of the call. See more

I'm no super hero but I'm doing my part to save the world one bacon sandwich at a time. Thank you Monroe Hose Company for keeping everyone safe with the traffic control.
