What a fun club meeting we had last night! We learned about raising Jumbo Coturnix Quail from Chris and Angela Westra who homestead in Lancaster. Their business is called the Dinosaur Omelet! Check out their Facebook page. We learned that quail need less space than chickens, can be raised for eggs, meat, or for selling to others and that the patterns on their eggs are similar to finger prints! In addition, Chris and Angela talked about the importance of setting goals, keeping good records, and not being afraid to fail. What new goals have you set for your 4-H animal project(s)?
