Galactic Ice will be offering a summer skills & scrimmage program to all U8 players. The program will be set up as a 20 minute practice session and 30 minutes of half ice game play. Practices will focus on individual skill development and team play. Teams will be chosen weekly for scrimmages. Sessions will be held on Thursdays from 7:00-7:50 PM from June 17th-August 12th.... ADULT LEARN TO PLAY HOCKEY SPRING/SUMMER 2021 The Galactic Ice Adult Learn to Play Hockey program is for those who have never played hockey before or for those who have very little experience. This program is the first step to entering adult league hockey. Each week participants will progress on the basics of the forward and backward skating stride, stopping, puck control, passing and shooting. Each practice is designed for players to practice their skills at their own pace. ...Team play will also be introduced through small area games in a fun and encouraging environment. There will be a Beginner and an Advanced class. No experience is necessary, however full equipment is required. Groups will be divided by skill level so more experienced players can continue their development. Program will run in 6 week sessions. FULL EQUIPMENT REQUIRED. Some loaner equipment may be available. ALL SESSIONS HELD ON TUESDAYS FROM 7:00-7:50PM SESSION 1: April 12, 26, May 3, 10 and 17 and 24 SESSION 2: TBA SESSION 3: TBA COST PER PLAYER: $125.00 PER SESSION. Their training needs to take into account who they are, how to keep them engaged and give them the confidence they need for success. Little Penguins is BACK! Sidney Crosby's Little Penguins Learn to Play Hockey is an introductory program for children ages 5 to 9. The program aims to inspire families to join the sport. Little Penguins provides first-time participants FREE head-to-toe equipment, age appropriate on-ice instruction, and certified coaching in a fun and safe atmosphere. Little Penguins is presented by the NHL and NHLPA with the support of Crosby, the Pittsburgh Penguins Foundation, DICK'S Sporting Goods, CCM and USA Hockey. Pace Hockey November 30, 2020 Hello Hockey Families,... Top players don't "maintain" their game in-season... they find a way to grow, improve and make gains! On Monday, December 21 and Tuesday, December 22, PACE Hockey will be in Altoona to lead our first ever Over Speed Skating Mid-Season Tune-Up program for 2006-2011 birth year players who presently compete at the travel hockey level. This program will be run similarly to our summer Over Speed program, but will have more emphasis on "multitasking," as we combine our over speed skating principles with skill work. As always, our program will be intense, hands-on and will push players to be confident and trust their ability to skate with speed and balance. We believe this program will serve as a spark for players who are looking to build momentum for the second half of the season. Both sessions will run for 60 minutes, from 6:00 7:00 PM.
