Good news! Our department has teamed up with the History and Archaeology Department in order to restore damaged sculptures using 3D scanning and 3D printing. 3D printing and 3D scanning for museums and archeology are increasingly used in cultural preservation. 3D technologies provide museum curators, researchers and archeologists with new tools to capture in 3D ancient objects, artifacts or art pieces.... They can then study, restore or simply archive them with much more details than traditional 2D pictures.
