I had a very nice customer visit today. So when she said, I keep finding myself trying to guess why you buy the things you buy. I thought are you messin w/ me? Before I ran w/ that thought she added, cause I love your look, I’m trying to figure it out and that’s really tough to do. Well, I told her the truth. Each and every item I buy subconsciously passes the test: would I use this in my own home if I had the space? What makes it special enough? Utterly unique patina?... Unusual craftsmanship? Old school quality? One-of-a-kind? Simply functional but extra cool, pretty or chic? Hitting on one of those works. I try to hit as many of those qualities in each item I find. At this point though, it usually comes down to what I’m drawn to. Simple as that. If you buy what instantly catches your attention and makes you instantly excited then you’re on the right track. Have fun pulling it all together without overthinking it . . . and you’ll define your own look. Trying something different today. I’m just gonna pile in lots of the new finds inside and outside. Not worry so much, for now, about carefully created displays. It’ll be a lot easier and faster this way ; ) Most of the treasure might be a little dusty and unpriced (not so different, actually) but hopefully pretty fun : ) I’ll price on the fly if you’re up for the cleaning. I’m heading over now to get started. It’ll take a few hours to unearth stuff so I plan on staying open late today. Maybe til 6pm. Come see me!!
