Garden Variety Philadelphia

Garden Variety is closing forever after tonight. Whatever you do, don't say your sorry! It's too much for me to handle and my efforts are better suited elsewhere. It was a pet project that lasted a lot longer than expected. We're going to keep Calle Sabor (Taco Cart) in operation, and we'll still be able to hang out there. So unless someone rents it short term, it will be a front yard until we break ground on a brand spanking new building. Heidi and I are very excited about this new project, and we thank everyone who contributed to Garden Variety Philadelphia over the last few years. Please send me hi res photos or post pictures of GV to my page. I want to have some mementos. This chapter is over, and I can't wait to see what happens next in the ADVENTURES OF THE MIDNIGHT CARPENTER.......

Schloctoberfest in Garden Variety - Please come help me decorate the garden tonight!!! I have a bunch of decorations and a gazillion ideas. Lend me your brain? Muhahahaa. The theme is 'Mad Science'. Think jars with tubes and body parts/ tubes and circuit boards. Bar will be open, free beer for helpers! 7pm -12am

Does anyone want to help build some weird/funny/cool carnival games for 2nd street fest? Just for fun, something for kids and adults. I've got a nice list going so far, and am working today and tomorrow. frosty

ATTENTION FOOD and UNIQUE VENDORS! With carts or small tent set-ups (no trucks). I'm offering some space in GV for 2nd Street Fest, THIS SUNDAY. All day or weekend if you want, $50-200 depending on location. Hit me up here or at [email protected]. The bar won't be open so there's more room.

Beer garden will be closed this weekend until further notice. I worked tirelessly to build a place that fueled innovative and collaborative thinking about food, art, music and culture. It was exactly what I envisioned for the corner, and was just starting to turn a profit. I already paid $600 2nd Street Fest (AUGUST 3rd), so who's want to help me fix the pool and set up a 100,000 watt sound system? I'm serious.
