I receive my life and being here and now from a God who creates and sustains me because He loves me. My own response in love allows God’s life to flow into me forever. All the things in this world are gifts from God presented so that I can know Him more easily and make a return of love to Him more readily. I do this by filling the world with the order of His love between me and everyone and in the use of all created things. As a result, I appreciate and use these gifts of creation insofar as they enliven and enlargen my life in God. But, if any of these gifts become the focus of my life, they block out God and His life, and so I must let them go unused or let myself be free of them. I should not fix my desires on health, or sickness, wealth or poverty, success or failure, a long life or short one. For everything has the potential of calling forth a deeper response to my life in God. The Together Project is open to any student in grades 9-12 in the Diocese of Scranton. Registrants will meet in virtual small groups for one hour a week for fo...ur consecutive weeks starting with a kick-off meeting on Monday, February 15th. Small group discussions will be moderated by ISLI trained young adults and will focus on aspects of faith, community building, and support. The past year has been difficult for all of us, and marriages have not been spared the many extra stressors the pandemic has brought to our lives. The Tuesday 9:00 AM Mass, February 2nd, at OLV is canceled due to the weather. Tuesday is the Candle Mass and Father Toomey will still pray a Mass privately during the day where he will bless candles.
