The 2019 Festival is announced! Our Festival will run from July 1-14, 2019 and we will be preparing the much beloved Ein Deutsches Requiem by Johannes Brahms! Our three Saturday retreats for the coming year are all in 2019: January 19th, March 9th, and May 25th. Save the dates and contact our treasurer at [email protected] to enroll for the season, and get all the necessary information. We are excited to keep this great music and mission going in Germantown! CALL FOR SINGERS The Germantown Concert Chorus, (GCC) is a community symphonic chorus, that explores concert and oratorio literature with a focus on including and instructing those with both a desire to sing and a commitment to learn. The Chorus is now preparing for our 2017 Choral Festival in July. We invite singers from the Greater Philadelphia area to join us. The Germantown Concert Chorus is the principal chorus for the Festival, under the artistic direction of Cailin Mar...cel Manson. This year we will perform Felix Mendelssohn's Elias with The Rittenhouse Orchestra on Sunday, July 23, 2017 at St. Luke's Episcopal Church in Germantown. The Festival run from Monday, July 10 through Sunday, July 23, 2017, with the performance of the Mendelssohn Elias on Sunday, July 23rd at 4:00 p.m. at St. Luke's. Nightly rehearsals start on Monday, July 10th from 6:30 9:30 p.m. in the sanctuary of Christ Ascension Lutheran Church located at 8300 Germantown Avenue, Philadelphia PA. This is a tremendous commitment of time, however the rewards will be powerful and great! No audition is required; just an informal meeting for choral placement with the Artistic Director. Members of the Germantown Concert Chorus range in age from high school students to retired seniors. There is a yearly membership fee which can be paid in installments (discounted membership available for students). Your commitment must include attendance at ALL rehearsals during the Festival.
