The vibrancy of any college campus lives in the center of its students and campus community. The last academic year went on as normal as we celebrated some of our favorite events from OAP, to the Great POCONO Escape, the Club Expo, Le-Laf events, LAD events, The Rally, And student staff meetings.... there was no indication of what was to come. This post is an ode to our wonderful students that create community and a sense of belonging to our campus population in so many way...s. Your work over the past academic year did not go unnoticed. These photos serve as a reminder of how important it is to be present. No moment is ever guaranteed and we can never get yesterday back again. But what we will always have is our memories. You all are so pivotal in creating the campus memories that will carry you throughout your lifetime. College is a unique place and it’s because of the people. You.

It’ll only be for 2 weeks! As we left the office in March this time last year, our staff was optimistic that we would be able to assume life as normal in two weeks. COVID was something new to everyone and we were all unsure of what the future meant for us and how it would impact our campus. A year later today, we reflected in our staff meeting about the good, the bad, and the ugly of what this year has been. With the constant state of what feels like experiencing grief in... all of its stages over and over and over again, we still find peace in the team and bond we have cultivated through this challenging time. We’ve had to adjust in many ways, almost weekly, and we unfortunately had to adjust to the loss of a great member of our team, to a new opportunity for them, back in August. There was plenty of personal life happenings, outside of work, that we shared and confided in one another in. One thing about life is that it goes on, whether you are ready for it or not, even sometimes when it’s most difficult. Through it all, we remained here for one another as best as we could. We persevered. We became a stronger family. We are blessed to get to work with so many amazing students and we all went into this field to have as great as an impact on the lives of students as best as we can. Covid has presented many challenges to that work, but we are so thankful that we still get to serve this great student population. Although 2 weeks has turned into a year... we steadily look forward to the day we can all be back on campus together with you all again.
