The donations have been distributed! We received a beautiful note and photos this morning from Elaine, a volunteer from First Sunday Meals, that dropped off the donations yesterday. Please read: ....Thank you SO much for the wonderful opportunity to meet and work with you....The guests at Neshaminy Inn loved the food especially in the special bags. It was hard to get pictures, because I did not want to identify the guests. The one in the pink ponytail was very excited to share that she will be moving into an apartment in May. I was SO happy for her. In fact, she asked how she could help me. She and Beth help to distribute the food, and are happy they can help me by checking off the names.

A BIG thank you for all the volunteers that came out last night to make 100 dinner bags (20 extra thanks to the food donations) & 200 snack bags. Special thanks to Anchor Presbyterian Church for the use of their facilities. The bags will be dropped off today and we were told the majority of the food will be consumed within the next few days so your impact is immediate!

In honor of Earth Day last week, Gigi Project is taking an act of green while donating these reusable cooler bags . We needed sturdy bags to transport family groceries & these were perfect. According to earthday.org, the earth will appreciate these cooler bags replacing plastic bags because... Besides plastic bags being made from fossil fuels, the average plastic bag is only used for 10-20 minutes (and we use 4 TRILLION a year!)... Plastic bags can live up to 1,000 years in a landfill. Also, plastic bags are troublesome for recycling facilities, since they get caught in the machinery and slow or even halt the entire recycling process. Unfortunately, according to Waste Management, only 1% of grocery bags are returned to grocery stores for recycling. So, let’s use reusable bags while keeping our earth clean. Also, don’t forget to sign up for our awesome event on Wednesday: https://gigiproject.salsalabs.org/april-2021-foo/index.html
