First time 10 students again tonight ever since the pandemic started. Since the maximum in our school were 54 active students all at one time that came once a week, THAT is actually a big number for us. We’re still alive and kicking (literally). I won’t give up on my students and the community.

Today 8 years ago was the day that started the winning week of my last WKA (now WKU) World championships. This was one huge paradigm shift week that changed my life in a whole different direction. It ended my competitive international martial arts career and started me on a path of acting, directing, being a real life super hero, and ultimately ninja warrior. Over the next few days I will have a huge throw back of this entire week, 2 gold and 2 bronze medals. I will never forget this. It was exhilarating. This young man just passed the test for his brown belt. Super proud of all his progress, cause I know where he started. We’re adhering to the mask rule, if we’re closer than 6’ and instead of a hand shake we do now do an elbow shake. I also have tested everyone separately so far and I’m keeping testing times short to minimize the germ spread. Where there is a will there’s a way! Congratulations Aidan! Way to go!

Super proud of this girl here. Avarie passed her yellow belt before the pandemic hit and then we were separated for a while. She came back today and rocked that belt for the first time! Congratulations little angel and welcome back!!!

I don’t mean to discriminate, but there has been a COVID case at one of our 3 elementary schools, the Blain one. I don’t know out the top of my head which schools all my martial arts kids go to. If I have any from Blain, please consider our online option for the next 2 weeks to not spread this any further. Keep in mind that I have parents and grandparents here with compromised immune systems and that I myself not only am in contact with people with a compromised immune system, including myself, I’m also a school bus driver and could infect another district unbeknownst to me. And we don’t even know, what else I’m currently being diagnosed for with the episodes I’m having. We all want to live a little longer, so please consider not coming in for 2 weeks and using the online option. Thanks!!!

Purpose Martial Arts has finally jumped on the wifi train. The installer will come in next week sometime to install everything. I would love to offer the wifi password to my customers. However at this point we’ll test out how much we need for the online classes. In about a month you should be able to connect your device in here. We’ll have TV also. I’m stoked.

We have a power outage. Online classes are on the schedule, but can’t be done without power for more than 45 minutes. I’ll keep my students updated.

Because of the recent happenings these past few days, where it came to the surface that last years American Ninja Warrior champion was arrested, because of a sex crime he committed with one of the 15 year old customers that attended his ninja warrior gym I talked to my students at tonight’s class about their safety and will do so with all my other students the next few days and weeks. While I background check all of my instructors, who instruct for me if I’m ever gone at a fi...lm shoot or doctors appointment, at no times should any of the children be alone in a room with any of my instructors or myself for that matter. A background check only shows what has happened in the past and if a predator hasn’t been caught yet, it shows nothing. Every time there are classes in here there should at least be one parent in the very same room also. So TWO adults and at least one child. This also follows the same safety two deep leadership that is applied at boy and girl scout events and some of you might be familiar with that. Even if the class is with me only, I need at least one other parent (preferably the caretaker of the child) in the same room. Because it could go the other way around, too, and I need to protect myself. I don’t want to find myself accused of a crime that I didn’t commit one day. All parties will always be safe at my school, that includes students AND instructors. I just wanted you to know that. Thank you for your understanding. See more
