Early morning 1 Trapped in the Borough Just after 2am crews were dispatched to the 100 block of Manchester street in the borough for a reported vehicle acciden...t with rollover. Quickly after dispatch York upgrade the box to be with entrapment, police arrived on scene and confirmed entrapment. Rescue 59 arrived on scene with 1 vehicle overturned in the road with with a meted pole broke off as well. Crews quickly stabilized the vehicle began removing the drivers side to gain access to the driver. Crews had to carefully let the patient down who was suspended upside down by their seatbelt. Shrewsbury Volunteer Fire Company arrived on scene and assisted with patient removal and scene lighting. Glen Rock EMS INC. transported 1 patient class 3 to york hospital. Met-Ed arrived on scene and began securing their broken pole the box was placed available and crews returned.

Last evening at 23:46 units from WEFC were dispatched to 222N @ MM 38.1 for a vehicle accident standby. Police dept requested an Engine and the Traffic unit due... to a jack knifed tractor trailer. Units arrived and fire police shut down the left lane. The Traffic unit was set up with cones tapered to it and the arrow board flashing to warn drivers to merge right. Shortly after the shut down was in place a driver traveling northbound failed to move over and struck the rear of the stationary Traffic unit. The unit was pushed forward and sideways as a result of the collision. The driver then continued on driving over additional cones and continued past the scene. One of the fire police members witnessed the crash and alerted the nearby police officer who was able to pursue and stop the driver a short distance away. We at WEFC are extremely thankful that there were no injuries to any of our members. The Traffic unit did the job it was designed to do in protecting the scene. The unit was not occupied and no members were around the vehicle at the time. This is a huge loss to our department as the unit will be out of service for an extended period of time. We are in the initial stages of getting estimates and options to allow us to get a unit back on the road as soon as possible. Move over! It’s the law!
