Our rockin' farm crew, Kailey and Dave, are planting rainbow chard on the water-wheel transplanter. Great misty & rainy day for planting. Very low stress for the plants. It was a marathon - 6 beds broccoli, 1 Napa cabbage, 2 swiss chard. Now we're doing the rain dance, hoping that Mama Nature will water them in too! #organicfarming #plantingseason #CSA
Planting onions this week. Lots and lots of onions! Because our CSA members LOVE getting their onions every week! And we aim to please. CSA is all about making our members happy. That's why we love CSA. Thanks for all the support guys! #springonthefarm #plantingseason #CSA

Spotted this monarch while weeding cilantro. I think it had just hatched, the colors are so vibrant! No filter on this! With monarch populations in trouble, we're always happy to see them! We've actually been planting native milkweeds around the farm, and maintaining a natural meadow of milkweed, to try to create good habitat for them. Because we're all in this together, all life included, on spaceship Earth. We've only got one!
Small farm share, week 17, at The Good Farm. Autumn harvest is the best! Melt in your mouth potatoes and sweet taters, luscious leeks, crisp greens, spicy garlic and onions, and still a taste of lingering summer, last few tomatoes and peppers! #seasonaleating #eattherainbow #organicfarming #organicveggies #CSA
CSA pack day. The music helps keep us all moving quickly. Just over 100 boxes packed for delivery, in about an hour (with all greens bagged ahead of time.) The tunes are by our new favorite band, Goose! #CSA #localfood #farmtofork #musicmotivation
Large share, Week 15. Summer meets autumn. Best of both worlds! #CSA #organicfarming #seasonaleating #eattherainbow
Digging sweet potatoes! Nice harvest of beautiful Covington sweet potatoes. First we mow the vines off the hills with the flail mower. Then we find the main roots in each row and fork the sweet taters out of the ground. Then we bucket them and it's off to the greenhouse for curing! Tried planting on bare ground this year, no plastic mulch. Got great yields and very little rodent damage! Yeah! Love reducing our usage of plastic mulch! #sustainablefarming #organicfarming #CSA #growingsweetpotatoes #seasonaleating
So many garden spiders in the tomato patch this morning, webs glistening, heavy with dew. Beautiful misty morning! #gardenspiders #organicfarming
Still life with vegetables. Last week's small CSA share. Last gasp of summer! #CSA #eattherainbow #foodart
Delicatas and Acorn squash are in! Really nice haul this year, and good-sized squashes. Bringing in Butternuts and Butterkins tomorrow. Will be glad to get them all in! Last big bulk harvest of the season- whew. Well, except for sweet taters and potatoes, but still- we're getting there! #fallharvest #wintersquash #delicatasquash #CSA #localfood #seasonaleating
Late summer sweet corn - a view from inside the patch. I love heading into that maze and coming out with full bins of sweet corn, like this one. This Xtra-Tender variety is a real winner, and I am not getting paid to say that! Great flavor, tight wrapping, and very productive. Most plants have 2 ears!
Big beautiful bountiful heirloom tomatoes! This one is Cherokee Carbon, actually an heirloom marriage, but we love it! All the flavor of an heirloom with hybrid productivity, especially low cracking in this dry weather we've been having the past few weeks. #tomatoes #heirloomtomatoes #CSA #seasonaleating @ The Good Farm
Large Good Farm share, bursting with summer's bounty! #eattherainbow #localfoods #seasonaleating #CSA
