They say it takes a village. . And it really does. . This is to all the women that have helped me raise my family.... . There are too many to list. . If you are a childcare giver - you are a difference maker. . If you are an aunt - you add joy to my kid's life. . If you are an executive assistant - you saved the day. . If you are a great girl friend - you kept me sane. . Happy Mothers Day to all the women who are making a difference in the lives of others. #mothersday
On January 3rd, I woke up at 3:00 am and remembered my mother's birthday. She would have been 91. She has been gone for almost 12 years. There is not a day that I don't think of her. Awake, I jumped on my Ipad to see if my book, The GREAT SPORTS MINDS ATHLETE JOURNAL was live yet on Amazon. It was. ... My mother would have laughed and been proud that I published a book on her birthday. My mother read a book a day. She did not care what the topic was. If it was a book - she read it. When she retired, she was intentional in selling her home and moving into an apartment in East Brunswick, NJ, at the Civic Center, where she could walk to the library. My mother - like my husband may have asked if a journal is a book. The GREAT SPORTS MINDS ATHLETE JOURNAL is a book and a journal. It's a game plan for success in sports and life. I was motivated to write the GREAT SPORTS MINDS ATHLETE JOURNAL because there is a need to introduce our athletes' mental performance skills earlier in the athlete journey. I want to invert the current process. Today elite and professional athletes have access to mental performance coaching and mindfulness training. The earlier we can introduce mental performance skills (I weave them throughout the book via 12 Weekly Challenges), the more prepared athletes will be to handle the stress associated with sports and life. Many of the athletes I work with are super talented, dedicated, and are walking around with a negative narrative in their head - "I am not good enough" and more. The daily prompts are structured to help the user see the good in their day even if they had a poor performance. The journal challenges the users to identify what is important to them, practice the daily reflection of gratitude, goal communication, pride, learning, and more. You would make my day if you checked out the book on Amazon and bought it for an athlete in your life. I have a few of my adult friends doing a 90-day Journal challenge with me using the GREAT SPORTS MINDS JOURNAL because we all trying to win in the game of life. #trainthementalgame #gsmathletejournal #wintheday #athletementalhealth

Today as we wrapped up or 5 Day Training, an athlete shared that his take away way, I don’t have to be perfect. = An incredible lesson for athletes in life and sport. https://www.nytimes.com//opi/alexi-pappas-depression.html
