New York City Shopper Express Bus Trip

I wanted to put out a HELLO to everyone and hoping all is well with you and your families during this difficult and unprecedented time. All weekend I kept thinking about what we would have been doing in NYC if we had gone. It is such a strange feeling not to be able to go, a place that is so familiar to us. Like everyone else we know this is not permanent. I know we will all travel again and see this wonderful world of ours and for now we are just going on our memories, pic...tures and thinking how grateful we were to have been able to go in the past. I do not know if NYC will be in the cards for this year, but I am hopeful for next, we have to see what happens in the next 6 months and go from there. In the meantime share your favorite vacation pictures with us and a little blurb. We can all dream about the future and the anticipation of the next adventure. This was one of the best trips we took, it was in Jan. of 2018 to Thailand. What a great experience. Here we are at one of the many King's palaces and the other is a day spent at a elephant sanctuary on the river Kwai where we learned about, feed and bathed them. April Trip Update Important In spite of our initial optimism of taking the trip next month, after careful consideration and with the best available information available, we are going to cancel the New York City trip for April 18 19. Events in New York City and State, plus guidance from the CDC to avoid groups of 50 or more people for the next 8 weeks, have caused us to make this difficult decision. Our hotel partner, the #Hilton Garden Inn, has agreed to allow us to canc...el our reservation in spite of being normally a no-cancel contract. We have used the Hilton Garden Inn for many years and this sort of partnership is exactly why we value them and continue to use them year after year. We will be contacting our motorcoach partner, O.D. Anderson, today regarding cancellation of our charter contract. Under the terms of the agreement, we can cancel and receive almost a full refund of our charter rental cost. We are hopeful, though, of receiving a total refund and will update you further as we have information. We realize many folks have purchased tickets and made reservations for activities. We deeply regret not being able to complete this trip. In nearly 30 years of working in group travel, this is the first time we have experienced a complete cancellation of a planned trip. Those of you who have traveled with us many times before know that this is not our normal procedure, but, we are living through some very abnormal times right now. We have received several questions about our intentions for the scheduled April 18 trip to New York City. I'm sure you are concerned, as we are, and watching the often confusing daily information regarding the virus pandemic. We just got back for NYC this weekend, we were there with Greensburg Central Catholic on their senior trip, always a great time. Our trip will be here before we know it, a couple of reminders; final payment is due on or before March 15th ( if you have not received your invoice call the office), we depart at 5:00 AM from the Greensburg Ramada and are staying at the Hilton Garden Inn on West 35th St. I know that many of you already know what your plans are, but if you do need... help with an itinerary call the office and we can help you plan your weekend. Some of the things we did this weekend with our group was the NBC studio tour, the Empire State Building, Museum of Natural History and Statue of Liberty, all real NYC things to do for a first time visitor or veteran NYC traveler. The Empire State Building has been remodeled and there is a museum as you walk up to the elevators that take you up the the 86th floor observatory. Out on Liberty Island they also opened a new museum last May that is dedicated to the building of the statue, hands on experiences and you can get up close the the original torch. Both experiences/ museums were very well done and I highly recommend them if those places on your your trip. Keep posted as we get closer I will be putting up things to and and general info.
