PRAYER REQUESTED FOR RANDY Amos. UPDATE - Tuesday Evening: Latest update on Randy Amos. Latest update from my sister! ... Baby steps, but steps in the right direction!! It will be a slow process, but there is hope! "I spoke with the RN and dad's EKG is showing normal electrical activity now. The medication that was keeping his blood pressure normal was able to be turned down because he is able to tolerate that. The extraneous bleeding from the high-dose anticoagulants has slowed dramatically and they've been able to restart the heparin to prevent clots from forming. All of these are steps in a good direction. He is still on the ventilator and sedated to reduce metabolic and respiratory energy requirements to promote healing " ---------------- Randy Amos has tested positive for Covid. He has just been transferred to Downtown Portland Hospital were he is in Isolation ICU He has been diagnosed Not only with Covid but also with 1. sepsis- Sepsis occurs when chemicals released in the bloodstream to fight an infection trigger inflammation throughout the body. This can cause a cascade of changes that damage multiple organ systems, leading them to fail, sometimes even resulting in death. 2- Pneumonia 3- Clot in his lung Please pray for Sylvia who will be tested for Covid tonight and cannot see Randy until negative results come back. Also pray for their son who is flying in. UPDATE FROM THIS MORNING: Sylvia has come back negative. Great news! And this is from their daughter: The interventional radiologist call me in the middle of the night to tell me they were performing a percutaneous catheter directed thrombolysis placement. They ran a small catheter up each femoral vein to drip clot dissolving medication directly on the massive clot-these will be left in place for 4 hours. The huge clot is compromising the right side of the heart and causing right side heart failure and worsening the his lung function. He is in ARDS. I spoke to his RN about 20 minutes ago and the medication is working and the catheters will stay in until 4am their time. He is still intubated but........is now awake enough to respond to commands!!!! This is nothing short of a divine miracle. . He is not out of the woods and still in critical condition but there are some positive signs. I was able to talk to him-the RN held the phone to his ear and I told him we loved him, that Bob was coming out there today and I was following in a couple of days and He nodded . I also cracked a joke I knew he would like and the RN said he smiled .
