BLAIR PA ALERT: National Weather Service Partners-Blair County and Surround Areas January 31-February 2, 2021 A long-duration snowstorm will bring significant impacts to much of Central Pennsylvania Sunday morning through Tuesday morning. Snowfall totals in excess of 1 foot are likely in the corridor of heaviest snowfall. Considerable uncertainty remains with the following aspects of this storm: Northward extent of wintry mix late Sunday night into Monday: More wintry mi...x would cut into snowfall totals across the Lower Susquehanna Valley. Location and amount of snow in corridor of heaviest snowfall: High snowfall rates in the band of heaviest snowfall late Monday and Monday night could result in rapid accumulation and realization of high-end snow amounts. Important changes: Increased snowfall totals across the area; updated Winter Storm Watches & Warnings From 3 AM Sunday to 5 AM EST Tuesday, 8"-12" of snow possible in Blair County. Travel could be very difficult to impossible. The hazardous conditions could impact the morning or evening commute. BLAIR PA ALERT: National Weather Service Partners - Blair County and Surrounding Areas Sunday-Tuesday A winter storm will likely impact Central PA Sunday morning through Tuesday morning. Confidence remains low in precipitation types and accumulation totals, which will be highly-dependent on storm track, but the greatest potential for significant snowfall exists south of I-80, but snow accumulation is possible across all of Central PA. Snow will start in Southwest PA Sunday... morning and spread northeast across the state, continuing through Monday night. Snow may linger into Tuesday morning, especially in eastern PA. Accumulating snow and any mixed precipitation may create slippery roads and hazardous travel Sunday through early Tuesday. Interstate 99 restriction starting at 10 p.m. tonight: Tractors without trailers; Tractors towing unloaded or lightly loaded enclosed trailers, open trailers or tank trailers; Tractors towing unloaded or lightly loaded tandem trailers;... Enclosed cargo delivery trucks that meet the definition of a CMV; Passenger vehicles (cars, SUV’s, pickup trucks, etc.) towing trailers; Recreational vehicles/motorhomes; School buses, commercial buses and motor coaches not carrying chains or Alternate Traction Devices (ATD’s); and Motorcycles. Speed limits would be restricted to 45 mph on these roadways for all vehicles while the vehicle restrictions are in place, and commercial vehicles not affected by the bans must move to the right lane, unless work zone signage indicates otherwise.

BLAIR PA ALERT: National Weather Service Partners - Blair County and Surrounding Areas Monday, January 25, 2021. Wintry weather is expected to impact central PA late today into tomorrow. Snow will overspread the area from southwest to northeast late this afternoon into tonight, before a gradual changeover to sleet and freezing rain occurs from southwest to northeast tonight into Tuesday morning. The highest snowfall amounts are expected along and east of I-99. The highest ic...e accumulation is expected in the Laurel Highlands. Precipitation may changeover to plain light rain across southern PA before tapering off on Tuesday. A Winter Storm Warning has been issued for the Laurel Highlands for freezing rain. A Winter Weather Advisory has been issued for much of the remainder of the area for light snow/sleet and a trace of ice.
