Greg's Kitchen 15.07.2021

Wow, folks. Been a while since checking in. I figured I’d do so now on this romantic holiday of Valentine’s Day. Yay. Coming up on a year of takeout only and we’re still hanging in there, thanks to your gracious patronage of course. I’m reminded this weekend of how we used to have our specials every weekend and that this weekend in particular would’ve been our world-renowned Strawberry Pound Cake French Toast. It’s certainly something that people look forward to, myself incl...uded as I could eat all the pound cake ends. We will get back to these things soon. Just gotta hang in there until then. In terms of indoor dining, we’ll be back to some capacity when it is safe to do so. Support the businesses of Manayunk and really anywhere you enjoy patronizing. Everyone still needs help. We at Greg’s thank you for continuing to support us and we hope to see your smiling and chewing faces soon. In the mean time, be safe, be healthy and be kind to one another.

Hey all. The weather outside seems frightful. But this chair is so delightful. Another year has passed and we are celebrating our 7th anniversary today. Appropriate that it’s snowy and cold as we opened back in 2013 during one of the coldest and snowiest winters I could remember. There are always too many people to thank. As most people who own a small business know, it just doesn’t happen without surrounding oneself with amazing people that truly care. ... Loyal customers, faithful employees, amazing friends and a supportive family are things that I’m lucky to have in my life. Everyone knows it’s been a rough year but it’s been made a little easier with people like that. Thanks for making us a part of your lives and we will continue to be around as long as the universe permits. Thank you all so so much. Stay safe, friends. PS. Thanks to the Manayunk Development Corporation for the support and the lighted billboard shoutout. Makes a fella feel special.

Hey y’all. Now’s your chance to vote in the Manayunk Gets Lit contest. Click on the link below and vote in the appropriate category. We’re nominated for ‘Best Window Display’ and ‘Most Original’. ... No matter who you vote for, do check out the street. It’s really magical and everyone has put a ton of work and heart into their displays. https://docs.google.com//1FAIpQLSdb9ycu4kMyFHcBlm/viewform

Much thanks to my brother Doug and lady Christine for helping with this classy, creative and hopefully heart-warming window installation. Come by at night and see it during the Manayunk Gets Lit fest. The town looks great all decorated and lit up. Nice to see everyone participating to help bring some merry and bright into the holiday season. Go support a small business. It’s small business Saturday! ... PS. GREGular mugs are back for sale.

Thanks to all of you who grabbed grub and donated on October 13th. Thanks to your generosity and hunger, I was able to donate $600 to Campaign Zero from that day. You guys are the real heroes. We should get shirts made up. Heroes for Zero. I’m a marketing man at heart. I’m not. I’m an idiot and jester. ... Thank you all again! Hugs and kisses(through the mask)

It’s been a strange 2020. Crazy how time flies when you’re constantly in survival mode...literally. Time has flown by so quickly that one could even forget the approach of his own birthday. Well tomorrow is the big day. The big 4-0. Despite the current pandemic, under strict caution, I’m able to see friends and family, a little at a time, to celebrate whatever a birthday in 2020 looks like. The birthday isn’t important. It’s being together and clinging to some semblance of n...ormalcy. A lot of people, many younger than I, will not have another birthday. Ripped too young from this world under unfair and unjust circumstances. Disproportionally, people of color are victims of this fate. This is not a political post. Justice shouldn’t be political. Compassion isn’t political. Love for all people shouldn’t be political. All this to say that tomorrow, Tuesday October 13th, I’ll be donating 100% of the total takeout sales to the CampaignZero. Google it. The more people come by and order, the more will be donated. They say put your money where your mouth is. Well, that’s terribly unhygienic and now is not the time for having money close to ones mouth. We again appreciate your support through this continuing rough patch. Can’t come by tomorrow? Consider donating your money or time. Support small business. Support black-owned businesses. Support one another. We’re all in this together only works if we’re all in this together. Register to vote. Get a friend to vote. Make sure you have a plan to vote. Then vote. Be safe. Look after each other. That is what I’d like for my birthday. Here’s to the world we dream about. And to the one we live in now. PS. Click the link below to find a business to support. https://www.phillymag.com//philadelphia-black-owned-busin/

Hello, lovely people. We’ve not spoken for a spell. How goes it? We appreciate all of your support for the last, well, half a year. It really means a lot to us. We hope you and yours have been keeping happy, healthy and sane this summer. Trying times for all indeed. ... We know that Philly is going ahead with plans for indoor dining, albeit at 25% capacity. We are excited to continue patronizing our fellow businesses on the street. At this time, however, we are continuing our takeout only as we are a smaller place. We can’t wait to get you guys back in there but we want to make sure we can ensure the safety of you and our employees. We’ll keep you updated and we appreciate all your support you’ve given us. Stay healthy, friends.
