"My advice to future Grier Girls would be to try and balance your academics well with whatever you like to do whether it is dancing, riding or any other sport."- Julia K., 8th Grade Read more from Julia's interview online in our Meet Grier series: http://ow.ly/NiBj50EfuU7
There's no better way to enjoy the amazing weather we've had than with an outdoor pizza party with our #GrierGirls!
Sra. Liegel, Grier's Spanish teacher, is an experienced calligrapher and generously offered our #GrierGirls a chance to learn the basics. The Modern Calligraphy Workshop was hosted in the Coffee Shop. Thank you for introducing this beautiful skill to us Sra. Liegel!
Edie M. had her first track meet in late March and placed 4th out of 27 runners and had her best time in the event! Congratulations Edie for representing Grier School, we are so proud of you!
We know there are smiles under those masks! #GrierGirls

This fall, Grier’s long-time Director Dr. Douglas Grier retired after more than half a century of service to the school. Dr. Grier’s influence on the school is great and far-reaching. Highlights of his tenure include modernizing the campus and adapting Grier’s enrollment to create a diverse and international student body. Although he is retiring from the position of Director, Dr. Grier will remain connected to the school through his role as President of the Board of Trustees. Thank you Dr. Grier for your years of service and devotion to Grier School, we wish you the very best in retirement!
"My favorite memories from my time at Grier are definitely eating dinner with all of my friends. At Grier you're away from your family so in a way your friends turn into your family. Dinner time has always been a way for us to all catch up with each other after a long day of classes and sports that we don't necessarily take together. " - Lenox B., Senior and Student Vice President Read more from Lenox's interview online in our new Meet Grier series: http://ow.ly/a6XM50C3QHi
It's that time of year - college applications! It is always an honor to witness when that first application is submitted. Wishing all of our students applying good luck during this process and we're so proud of you all!
We're taking our lessons outside as much as possible this year! Our #GrierGirls had a great time taking samples from a nearby water source to study in their science class.
#GrierGirls in Life Science class have been learning about and observing the transformation process of monarch butterflies. They participated in a monarch release last week!
Earlier this month, we hosted a Club Fair which gave #GrierGirls the opportunity to learn more about the clubs and to sign up or apply. The clubs, overseen by a faculty advisor, cover a wide variety of interests, activities, and hobbies. All of our clubs encourage students to make new friends, explore new hobbies, and develop new skills together!
It's so good to see our #GrierGirls practicing on campus again in their favorite activities!
Last weekend we treated our #GrierGirls for a fine dining experience right here on campus! We brought a popular Italian restaurant to campus complete with music from Mr. Minnich, white table clothes, and candlelight. It was a special evening treat with friends! Thank you to our Activities Director Ms. Carper and staff for creating so many unique experiences that keep us safe on campus.
Art doesn't stop with a canvas or digital design. We love seeing the costume and clothing creations our #GrierGirls have created so far this year!
"My advice for future Grier Girls is to take everything in and don't take any moment for granted because it goes by faster than you can imagine." - Rhianna E., Senior and Student Council Secretary Read more from Rhianna's interview online in our new Meet Grier series: http://ow.ly/rWPR50BZFIQ
A little behind the scenes of how our #GrierGirls and faculty are handling private lessons this year!
Congratulations to #GrierGirls Lucy H., Sydney R., Grace T., and Grace W. for winning Upper School Team Champions at the Serenity IEA hunt seat show earlier this month!
Recognizing the importance of the Black Lives Matter movement and efforts for social justice, Grier's library has created a booklist that supports the Black Lives Matter movement by black authors. The list includes books for younger readers to more mature readers. Among the selections are works of fiction, non-fiction, graphic novels, and poetry. Books are available for on-campus students to borrow. If you aren't able to borrow a copy from your area library, we encourage you to purchase any books related to BLM, social justice, or anti-racism from books stores owned by BIPOC.
Congrats to three of our #GrierGirls, Liza E., Isabella F., and Nodoka M., on receiving letters of commendation from the 2021 National Merit Scholarship Program! We're so proud of our girls achievements!
