I would like to extend a huge THANK YOU to the neighbor volunteer(s) who took the initiative to shovel paths to and from the play spaces. Please take a moment to thank the neighbor volunteers who help to preserve the space by locking up and cleaning up in and around the playground - folks who offer access by opening up and helping to make sure the space is safe. BTW, there are always small things that you can do to help keep our family friendly spaces safe and pleasant for a...ll of our neighbors and visitors! Be well

Fred Rogers modeled communication with children that was clear and holistic. As parents, it can be hard for us to give this much time and attention to what we say to our children or other children we work with / engage in the community, however, I hope we are all challenged and inspired to communicate as clearly and as empathatically as possible, whenever possible.
Trash and recycling will not be collected tomorrow, Thursday, Dec 17. Residents whose normal trash day is Thursday must hold materials for Friday pick up and F...riday’s materials will be collected on Saturday. Sanitation crews are being diverted to snow duty. This group of volunteers did so much work today! I am so grateful for their willingness to share their time, strength and energy to making our neighborhood safer and cleaner for our neighbors and visitors. We had to say goodbye to our blue gazebo today. It wasn't serving us the way we had hoped and it was beginning to become unsafe for users. We ard grateful for the ways it has served us and to Paul for building it. Today's litter patrol went from York Street to Letterly Str...eet extending the love and care beyond the borders of the playground. In the first pic, someone wrote "Thank you" on one of our signs. We are planning to continue to host a community cleanup on the last Sunday of each month, so if you missed this one, but would like to be included in the next one, please send us a message or email [email protected].
@channel cleanup plan for today: Good Morning, Today's cleanup will offer 3 ways of engaging 1. Litter & Leaves 2. Demolition... 3. Weight Redistribution 1. Those who choose leaves and litter will walk as a socially distanced group and sweep up leaves and pick up loose litter (chip bags, etc). Today, we will start in the playground- do Boston and Hagert, but stretch out to include York and Letterly streets. 2. Demolition - will demolish the blue gazebo (we should take a before pic with it before you begin). And will demolish the sand box. If time permits, a basic box can be build with wood in the garden. 3. Weight redistribution- many of the bags from our initial cleanup were too heavy for me to put with regular trash pick up. We need a few folks to separate the contents in the bags to make them lighter. It is always a blessing to gather with you all in this way and it feels good to bless our neighbors / community in this way. See you at 11 am.
Save Philly’s essential gardens! Rapid real estate development poses an existential threat to many of Philadelphia’s precious community-managed green spaces, wh...ere residents work together to build social connections, clean and cool the urban environment, and grow bountiful fresh vegetables for their families and neighbors. Donate to the Dig Deeper Challenge and double your impact today. Please help NGT meet our goal to raise $10,000 by October 28. Through a challenge grant from a generous NGT donor, 100% of your donation through this website will be matched dollar for dollar https://charity.gofundme.com//cam/the-dig-deeper-challenge Photos by Rob Cardillo
Hey folks, We are thinking about removing the blue gazebo. It was built with the intention of offering shelter from the rain and the sun - it is not effective w...ith either. It was also intended to store books, games and other weather sensitive materials safe and accessible. The hole on the floor is a problem that needs to be addressed by a repair or by removing the entire structure. We would like to discuss this as a group. Should we repair it or remove it? https://photos.app.goo.gl/qkwEijSztr8DgjDj6
The walk to fhe train was pleasant thanks to all of the volunteers who came out to our first Sunday Morning Cleanup!
