Don't mess with Philly. http://phillywerise.com/blog/count-every-vote-pledge/ Repost @phillywerise: ... Pledge to rise up until every vote is counted! Link in the bio. This election is the most important election of our generation - our lives and the future of our planet depend on it. But over the last few months we’ve been seeing attempts to disrupt the voting process, with the White House trying to discredit the mail-in and absentee voting, intimidation at the polls, and threats that every vote may not be counted. We all know how crucial Philly is in this unprecedented election. We won’t let fear tactics get in our way. Communities across the city have been coming out in masses to cast their ballots. And we must make sure that every single one of those votes are counted. Pledge to not accept anything but a full vote count, and to protest, defend our election, and rise up until our city, state and nation #CountEveryVote. Link to the pledge in our bio! #DontMessWithPhilly See more

On this election eve we are humbled and honored to offer Philadelphia area photographers working in film and other pre-digital processes an opportunity to exhibit works made in response to the events of this historic year. How did you respond photographically to the events of 2020? Are you inspired by feelings of hope, sorrow, anger, or resolve? Did you push your artistic boundaries or find yourself creatively challenged? We want to see the work you have produced in 2020 a...nd to share a breadth of responses to crises both personal and collective. Works selected by the juror, Shawn Theodore, will be included in an exhibition held at The Halide Project from January 15 through March 21, 2021, as well as in a virtual exhibition, social media features, and a full-color printed catalog. The gallery will be open by appointment with safety guidelines. Entry is free and open to photographers in the Philadelphia-area. Join us for this Monday's Light Talk with Anne Eder, an interdisciplinary artist who moves fluidly between two and three dimensions in her work, where the objects she builds become the images she makes. Anne will discuss her progression as an artist, the importance of tactility in her work, the concept of crossing boundaries (from wearable art to installations to works in clay), and the idea that experimentation doesn’t necessarily end with the print in a tray. The talk will ...be accompanied by images and short videos. Participants will have an opportunity to ask questions via chat and audio. Monday, October 26th, 7pm (EST) Suggested donation: $10 Register at www.thehalideproject.org/events(link in bio) This event is offered on a pay-what-you-wish basis. New -- with a story of neighbors helping neighbors. See the results in 7x17 format @gbenaimphoto. How has your photographic practice shifted this year and what discoveries have you made in the process? Tag us or DM as we continue to share selected posts. Reposting @gbenaimphoto:... On the roof in Um el Fahm. As I was setting up today someone called down from one of the nearby buildings. When I told him I was photographing he asked if I wanted to come up to his roof for a better view. An offer no one would refuse, and Ahmed, my host, could not have been nicer or more hospitable. He helped me lug some of my gear up several flights of steps, and fed me and talked as I went about making some really nice images. Couldn't ask for a better day out. . . . . . . . . . . . #7x17viewcamera #umelfahem #ultralargeformatphotography #viewcamera #filmphotography #photographerslife #riestripod #largeformatphotography #allcitiesarebeautiful #newlandscapephotography #contactprint #israeliphotography #landscapephotography See more
