A warm and enthusiastic welcome to 2021! To usher in this new and promising year, the new charitable organization LIFE: lifesaving initiative funding efforts a...nd my wee publishing company with Susan Russell and Kaity Lacy, Archimedes' Printing Shoppe & Sundry Goodes are holding a pop-up pet food pantry. The pandemic-related demise of the beloved Pet Valu is a tremendous loss for the community, and in its final days, the pet food and supply company, slashed the price of all of its merchandise (and for that matter, fixtures). LIFE founding member, Peggy Jackson, and our little Archimedes' team gathered up as much food as we could. We'd like to give it to those who need it most. We've already slated much of it to help housing and food insecure families who are working with the amazing Student-Run Emergency Housing Unit of Philadelphia. Trap, neuter, return advocates and colony cat caretakers are slated to receive food as well. But, we still have some food left for dogs, cats and even a few bags for small animals (specifically, four bags of food for ferrets, one bag for chinchillas (along with dust) and two bags for canaries and finches). Enormous thanks to our wonderful neighborhood pet food and supply store Ham + Bone in Fishtown! Not only are they letting us set up in front of the shop tomorrow (Saturday, January 2nd), they're donating some food as well! Last month marked the 3 year anniversary for us! It’s been a year of challenges, changes & goodbyes...but more notably; quarantine puppies, growth & hellos. Get together some individuals who undeniably put animals before themselves and truly understand the value that these furry creatures bring into your/our lives and what you get is our little dream team . Say hello to two new members of the ham + bone family!! Simone, currently a student at Temple, is working alongside our groomers as an assistant/bather and Charlie, who has over decade of experience, is another wonderful addition to our talented group of stylists . We love the individual styles that each person brings to the table and thanks to everyone’s continued support, we are able to keep the creativity and passion flowing @ Ham + Bone

You know when you know, you just know? That’s how it felt when we met Sam for the first time a few months ago when we were in search of a new groomer. The past few months have been a real blessing to have you and not only are we thankful but so are these good boys & girls that you have groomed. Happy birthday, Sam!! We are open and will continue to be for as long as possible with a smile on our faces during this time of uncertainty. We are happy to reschedule grooming appointments without question if needed and are following suit to keep our space sanitized and clean.
