#NoJoke: #alcohol is the most used substance by youth and adults in the United States. According to the National Institutes of Health (NIH) 2020 Monitoring the Future Survey, 55.3% of high school seniors used alcohol in the past year. Results of the 2019 National Survey on Drug Use and Health (NSDUH), demonstrated that 85.6% of people ages 18 or older reported that they drank alcohol at some point in their... lifetime; 69.5% reported that they drank in the past year; 54.9% reported that they drank in the past month. In 2019, 25.8% of people ages 18 or older reported that they engaged in binge drinking in the past month; 6.3% reported that they engaged in heavy alcohol use in the past month. Alcohol is the third leading cause of preventable death in the United States. About 95,000 Americans die from alcohol-related causes each year. Are you talking to your kids about alcohol?

#DYK: The average person spends 2 hours and 22 minutes a day on social media. Consider reducing that number by 30 minutes by going for a #dailywalk! #Walking has so many health benefits, and you don't even have to power walk! Getting outside for some fresh air and moving your body will improve your physical and mental wellbeing. #walkforhealth #reducescreentime #happyspring

None of the authorized and recommended #COVID19 vaccines or COVID-19 vaccines currently in development in the United States contain the live virus that causes COVID-19. This means that a #COVID19vaccine cannot make you sick with COVID-19. There are several different types of vaccines in development. All of them teach our #immunesystems how to recognize and fight the virus that causes COVID-19. Sometimes this process can cause symptoms, such as fever. These symptoms are normal... and are a sign that the body is building protection against the virus that causes COVID-19. It typically takes a few weeks for the body to build immunity (protection against the virus that causes COVID-19) after #vaccination. That means it’s possible a person could be infected with the virus that causes COVID-19 just before or just after vaccination and still get sick. This is because the #vaccine has not had enough time to provide protection. Source: CDC

This week is National Influenza Vaccination Week and a call to all Americans 6 months and older to get their annual flu vaccine if they have not already.
