COLOR TRANSFORMATION Swipe to see the before We straight up ripped the band aid off this one. Seven hours later, she was back to a color she felt confident in. These transformations are not easy, and a lot can go wrong. I used the low, and slow method to lighten her back with Olaplex. We used the acidic bonding concentrate shampoo and conditioner to give her beautiful shine. I’m going to blatantly put my opinion out thereIf you were born a blonde, have blue ey...es, and lighter eyelashes and eyebrows tread very lightly when you want to go darker. Trust me, most likely you will go back to being a blonde. If you use permanent color, it will stain your cuticle, making it very difficult to lighten away. It’s similar if you took a sharpie on a fresh white t-shirt, and tried to bleach it back to white. The fabric of the shirt will encounter damage when bleaching it, same as the hair. When you get the urge to darken your hair consider doing a dimension drop, and shadow root with a non permanent color. Her skin tone was not suited for a dark brown. You can see how much brighter her skin looks after lightening her. I also waxed, and deepened her eyebrow color to give her eyes a pop. Good hair takes time, but is worth in the long run. Confidence in your appearance is invaluable. See more
Here I am about to get up on my soap boxBefore I go on a rant, I want to give a heartfelt thank you to everyone who supports me in my hair journey. I recently hit 1000k followers, and for some that’s nothing, but to me its an accomplishment. I have made it a goal in the past few months to really challenge myself to build a better Instagram portfolio. I have watched countless classes, stayed hours after work to take the just right photos, and bought new curling irons.... ( the bio ionic extra long curling iron is da ) I am obsessed with hair, and I actually study/practice something everyday. My wonderful client gave free artistic reign with her color. I wanted to give her something that she doesn’t have to maintain at all. She’s a mother of two, and taking time to do your hair is a challenge in itself. Check out her before pic. I used a board painting 3-D balayage technique, and maybe put 15 teasylights overall in her color. Her ends were lacking dimension so I put a natural warm lowlight, and toned her the the new redken vg toner. The moral of this story is don’t be afraid of warmth if you want a balanced beautiful color. Not all blondes need to be ashy to look beautiful See more
* Happy Saturday behind the chair ...
Dimensional balayage baby. I did this without doing a shadow rootI’m all about dat dimensional blend. I utilized the 3d balayage technique for a perfect blend. I do love a shadow root, but they are not always necessary on a virgin hair. I used her own natural color as her shadow root, and made sure the blend was seamless. Now she has gorgeous maintenance free color that she can either go blonder in a couple months or not touch it up at all. Gorgeous hair isn’t cheap, but it is definitely worth in the long run.
