You cannot drive a car on an empty tank of gas, right??? Well, your body is no different! In order for the body to function properly you need proper fuel in the tank as well as fuel period. Low calorie diets will only make your results worse. You are putting the body into starvation mode, and everything you do eat can and will be stored as fat, because the body has no idea when you are going to feed it next. This also slows down your metabolism. Think of those old hot rods, t...he ones that need the turbo blue... if you stick low grade fuel in the car, it will run hard and inefficient, your body works the same way. You can fuel it with the wrong foods and get the same type of result as the car. Lower energy, carb crashes, insulin spikes etc. Make sure you are fueling your body with healthy food choices and good nutrients to fire that metabolism and give you a positive fat burning effect all day long!

The most important thing we can teach you, is that you do not grow in the gym!! You break down muscle in the gym! The training is just a stimulus! Muscle is built during the recovery phase.. (eating and sleeping) If you don’t adequately recover from training, you will not build muscle and may even lose muscle..! The same goes for the fat burning effect! Not enough rest and recovery will make your body start to store excess weight and your results will start to have a negative effect as well!! Train hard but smart!

Reading Labels!!!! Let’s talk about this good ol fashion Pb & J and ways to make sure you’re making the healthiest choices possible... Picking your carb....... Pictured are two different types of Thomas English Muffins to show you the difference in most important the first ingredient. When looking at both on a shelf most would pick up the Light 100 calorie Multi Grain Muffin... why... bc it says light and 100 calories. So let’s take a look at the first ingredient of the picture on the left, says "Enriched" Wheat Flour :( Now to the one on the right Whole Wheat Flour :) Be sure when making a decision on Wheat wraps and muffins and different types of bread the first ingredient is not enriched! There is a common misconception that enriched flour is not that bad for you, it is just not as good for you as whole wheat. After all, the flour producer did add some nutrients back to it. But this flour is not neutral it is actively harming your health. Consuming enriched flour products is like eating pure sugar and popping a multivitamin. So read your labels!!!! Now on to the Peanut Butter Most commonly everyone knows Jiff and its used by most, but when it comes to picking a peanut butter that is natural the ingredients should only be made with Peanuts and salt! Take a glance at the difference in ingredients from the Natural one on the left to the Jiff on the right! Both Labels are remarkably similar to the same macros, but make sure you know exactly what you are eating!! These extra ingredients can help aid in fat gain. So let’s see whats up with the Jelly - Most would say I’m trying to be healthy i need the Sugar free, bypassing the Natural Jelly right beside it, made from natural sources. The natural Jelly yes does have higher carbs and sugar, but the big thing is look at all the extra surprises thrown into the sugar free! These types of ingredients are worse for you and can aid in weight gain as well... such as Polydextrose, Maltodextrin, Sucralose, all these artificial sweeteners are worse for you then the regular natural sources themselves! The natural jelly also has NO High fructose corn syrup for the win!!!! Do not go by what you first see, most things that say fat free or sugar free have extra ingredients in them to make them taste good or ok to eat! So be aware of the ingredient section when purchasing your groceries. Something you thought that was good for you could be all together sabotaging your progress!
