As many of you know, I'm an avid reader and would probably go broke if it weren't for our fabulous public library that loans me piles of books. Every week I want to share a book with you that I've been enjoying, just in case something inspires you to read something new. This past week I finished Valarie Kaur's "See No Stranger." This is the first book this year that has turned me inside out and make me look at the world from a new perspective. Kaur is a brilliant woman and a...n engaging author. The stories she shares of her activist work for marginalized communities are absolutely heartbreaking. At the same time she shares her own highly relatable journey toward healing and reconciliation. Her ability to look at people as mothers, fathers, aunties, sons, cousins, and friends is worldview I want to emulate. I highly recommend this to anyone willing to read with an open mind and an open heart. I can't imagine you won't be changed by it. Just keep a box of tissues nearby as you do! I don't think I ever cracked this book open without breaking down in tears at some point! #bookreview #positivechange
