Please be aware, I will be unavailable for much of the month of July this year. The first 12 days of July, I will be available. But the middle of July, and possibly the last week of July and beginning of August(waiting to see how my schedule works out on this), I will not be making any appointments. For this reason, appointments at this time will be very limited. Please book your appointment early if you are going to want your dog groomed in July. * calendar days with a blue square- I have available appointments.
A few people have asked me recently about Lab puppies. How about an adult in need of a new home instead?
It’s that time of year again...
Spring shedding season is upon us! The schedule is filling fast, I am already booked into the second week of March. Contact me asap if you intend to get an appointment for anytime soon.
CLOSED today due to weather. Stay safe out there.
I think that we can all agree that 2020 has been a hard year, for so many reasons. As the year comes to an end, many people in our community are still struggling. Especially at this time of year, many people look for a way to spread a little extra love, and with social distancing firmly still in place that may have to look a little different this year. While scrolling through Facebook tonight, I came across a post that really hit me hard. The OP was talking about an elderly ...man who they had noticed at their local store earlier in the day. This man was using change to pay for a single can of cat food. This is real and it’s happening in our community. There’s not a lot of help out there for struggling pet owners who are desperately trying to care for their pets despite having fallen on hard times. So, in an effort to do what I can, I’ve decided to set up a drop station outside of the grooming shop. Any and all pet related items are welcome. If you wish to donate you can simply drop the item and go, or bring your donation with you to your grooming appointment. If you want to make a monetary donation, I will be happy to use that money to purchase items to donate for you. If you or someone you know is in need of help, please feel free to take whatever you need, you do not need to let me know that you have done so. My only request is that you only take what you need, and leave the rest for others who are also struggling. I am going to dedicate 10% of my grooming earnings toward donations at least until the end of the year, longer if I see that the donations are still needed. I plan to have the drop station up and running by next Monday, but will begin taking donations immediately. We are all in this together. Please consider sharing to get the word out.
A reminder for everyone; Please do not arrive for your appointment more than 20 minutes early. And please be sure to come back to pick up no more than 20 minutes after your pick up time. Appointments are made to keep all people and pets safe by eliminating contact between different households. No matter how friendly your dog may be, the other dog coming before or after your appointment time may be aggressive, and I schedule appointments accordingly to be sure dogs who do not know each other should not be here at the same time. If you know that you will need to arrive early/ pick up late please contact me before your arrival to check that your plans will fit into the schedule.
The Holiday rush is starting early this year. Please do not wait until the last minute to contact me for grooms. I am currently booked out to the end of October and the days before the upcoming major Holidays are also filling.
Important announcement! Our household is currently raising an orphaned kitten. For his health and safety, until he is old enough to be treated, I can not see dogs with fleas. If you suspect that your dog may have fleas, please treat him/her before your appointment. If a pet comes in with an infestation, they will be sent home immediately. As you all know, the grooming shop is attached to our home. When pets come in with fleas, the fleas do make their way into our house. This is normally not a big problem as all of our pets are treated, but a newborn kitten is not old enough to treat. Fleas are a serious health hazard for a kitten and can lead to anemia and death, as well as being an unnecessary annoyance for the animal. Please help me keep our new littlest friend safe.
Our family vacation will be from 7-5 to 7-11 this year. Any messages or calls received during that time will be slow to be returned.
The schedule continues to be busier than usual. My first available appointment is July 13th at this point. Please do not wait until the last minute to schedule your summer grooms.
One last reminder to please wear a mask when coming into the grooming area until further notice. CDC guidelines must be followed if we want the grooming shop to stay open. I am now completely booked until mid June. Please don’t wait until the last minute to contact me for appointments as I will be unlikely to be able to accommodate you.
If anyone will want their pup groomed any time in the next two months, I highly recommend booking ASAP. At this point, I have NO appointments available for the rest of the month of May. Please note, wearing masks and following social distancing guidelines will be required to enter the grooming area until further notice.
It looks like there is a very real possibility that grooming shops will be allowed to open on May 8th! I still need to confirm, but hope to be able to start contacting everyone on the wait list on Monday. I will contact you all in the order that you joined the list, please be patient as there are quite a few of you. I will do my best to get everyone scheduled ASAP. Please also be aware, I am required to follow CDC guidance, which means everyone wearing masks and the minimum number of people possible coming into the grooming area. I hope to see you all soon!
A really great brushing tutorial. It’s a bit long, so make sure you have the time to devote and pay attention. It’s looking like non essential businesses will be closed for at least another month. Keeping our community safe has to be a priority, but your pet’s health and care is important too. Proper , frequent brushing will keep matts from forming, saving your dog the discomfort of matted hair. And making it possible for their coat to be kept long when grooming is finally allowed again.
I know at least a few of you are probably looking over your pup, wondering where to even start home maintenance, now that grooming shops are closed.
I will be contacting everyone who already has a scheduled appointment for the next couple of weeks, to cancel their appointment. After some thought, I’ve decided the best way to handle this event is to start a list of those wanting appointments, and as soon as we have the green light, I will contact everyone on the list to schedule. We do not know how long it will be until grooming shops are allowed to open again, and this seems like the most efficient way to handle this event.
By now, I’m sure everyone has heard that all nonessential businesses have been strongly urged to close their doors for the next two weeks. While this quarantine is voluntary for now, there is the real possibility that it will become mandatory. So at this time, I do not plan to cancel any appointments that have already been made, but I will not schedule any new appointments for during the two week quarantine period. This policy may extend if the quarantine does become mandat...ory, or I may need to cancel already existing appointments to comply, or in the event that I become sick. For anyone who wishes to cancel their appointment, feel free to send me a message any time before your scheduled time. Several people have already done so, and I promise that there will be no hard feelings on my end if that is the decision you come to. Additionally, if you or anyone in your household has tested positive or has symptoms, please reschedule. Stay safe everyone, and I hope to see all of you soon. See more
Share as much as possible because panicked pet owners have been approaching vets and asking for their pets to be euthanised over coronavirus fears.
Meet our new puppy, Lassie! She’s pretty cute, but that’s not the reason for this post. With a new puppy in the house, it seemed like a good time to remind everyone that pets who are ill should not be groomed. If your dog has exhibited signs of illness within 24hrs of their groom, please reschedule. Bringing a dog who doesn’t feel well for a groom is not fair to them, and not fair to other dogs who may then be exposed, including cute little Lassie who is not old enough to have had all of her vaccinations just yet. Even if it’s five minutes before your groom time, please don’t hesitate to send me a message and reschedule, I will never give anyone a hard time about needing to do so, for any reason
