Twas the night before Christmas and all through the town The fire siren echoed, blaring it's sound The firefighters came running from far and from near And race...d to the trucks quickly, donning their gear. And I in my bunkers, my boots, and my hat Jumped into the engine to see where the fire's at Down at the corner of Fifth and of Oak The dispatcher informed us " a house filled with smoke" Smoke poured from all sides, from up, and from down Yet up there on the roof there was none to be found So up on the roof we raised us a ladder And climbed to the top to see what was the matter I came to the chimney and what did I see But a fellow in red stuck up past his knees Well we tugged and we pulled until he came out Then he winked with his eye and said with a shout These new fangled chimneys, they make then too small For a fellow like me, not skinney at all With a twitch of his nose he dashed to his sleigh And called to his reindeer, UP, UP, and AWAY As we rolled up our hoses he flew out of sight God Bless our Firefighters and to all a Good Night

7/6 Structure fire. We were dispatched for a reported porch on fire. 9C2 on scene notified us of a working fire, fire had spread behind the siding and into the attic area. Engine crew hooked the hydrant, laid 300’ 5 supply other crew made attack and vented the roof. The fire was contained to wall and attic area over the kitchen. Mutual aid companies White Mills and Forest assisted with ventilation and overhaul. Great work by all on a hot and humid day

6/8 Mutual aid #35 Promised Land, 2nd alarm structure fire

14:50 - 5/25/2020 We were dispatched for a structure fire, Lt. on scene confirmed working structure fire, 2nd alarm was dispatched. Units response Engine w/6 and Tanker w/3. On arrival we had fire coming out of Side D second floor with fire extension into the attic. Engine crew hand laid 100’ of 5 to hook the hydrant, another crew deployed the blitz line, and an attack line was pulled for the interior attack. Exterior attack was made while interior crew made way to 2nd floor.... Ladder 81 vented the roof, a second hand line was laid for attic attack. Fire was knocked down and overhaul started in 14 min. Crews were able to keep fire damage to 1 bedroom and the attic. Other crew members were able to rescue 6 cats, and crews were standing by to supply the cats with oxygen through our pet masks. 4 adults and 3 children are being helped by neighbors and Red Cross.
