Thank you Ryan Bizzarro for inviting Dr. Lauren Bairnsfather to speak today before the House Democratic Policy Committee! We appreciated the opportunity to speak with lawmakers about crucial issues of antisemitism and all forms of violent hatred that we are facing today. If you missed it, here's the recording from today--Lauren starts speaking at the 43 minute mark! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aOtH5OaTBPU
While the Holocaust mainly affected Jews in Europe, it also reached Jews in North Africa. Different countries in the region were subject to either Nazi military rule or racial laws. Thousands were sent to concentration camps, where they died of starvation and disease.
At 1:30pm our director, Dr. Lauren Bairnsfather, will be testifying during a hearing before the Pennsylvania House. She will be discussing the dangers of the current rise in antisemitism. The hearing will be streamed here: https://www.pahouse.com/policycommittee

It is truly difficult to find the words to describe how devastating it is to share yet another piece of news about a local survivor passing. This time we must tell you that we have lost Manny Kolski. Manny was a ray of sunshine to our whole staff. He lived to the amazing age of 106, and it was our pleasure to be able to experience what a rich, long life he was able to experience in spite of the horrors he endured as a young man. May his memory forever be a blessing.
