Over the past few years, Dr. Kingston has been part of Operation Gratituteds Candy Buy Back. We have enjoyed seeing all the candy that our patients and community have brought in. At this time we are still trying to limit the number of patients in our office at any given time but we still wanted to be part of this year's candy buy-back in some way. So this year will look a little different. We will set up a box out in front of our office starting Monday, November 2nd. Candy do...nations may be placed in that box during our normal business hours: Mon-Wed 8am-5pm and Thurs 8am- 2pm. Our last day for donations will be Thursday, November 5th. What kind of candy can I donate? Individually wrapped, fun- or bite-sized candy is accepted. No powdered candy, unwrapped, or homemade items. We will not be "buying back" any candy this year so it will be by donation only. If you would like to leave a hand-drawn picture or card for the troops you may place that in the box as well. We sincerely appreciate all of you who have donated or brought in candy over the years and we are disappointed that this year will not be the same. New guidelines from the PA Dept. of Health today allow dentists to provide all types of dental care including routine care and routine cleanings. We have always stressed how important oral care is to your overall health. Glad to see that reiterated by the DOH! https://www.media.pa.gov/Pages/Health-Details.aspx

Dear Healthy Smiles Patients, We are currently still under the "stay at home" order issued by Gov. Wolfe. We are working on a reopening date at this time and we are not rescheduling appointments until we finalize that reopen date. If you have been getting emails or texts regarding overdue appointments please disregard those at this time. Those should have been successfully turned off but in the event, you receive one just ignore it. ... We are still able to see patients on an emergency basis. That is for patients who are experiencing pain or have had an issue arise with a tooth. If this happens please call the office (717-945-7440) and follow the prompts to be connected to Dr. Kingston. Please keep in mind there will be a few seconds of silence before Dr. Kingston answers or you are able to leave a message for him. Please do not leave emergency messages on our general voicemail. Patients who have appointments scheduled between now and May 8, 2020, will be canceled at this time. You should receive either text, email, or phone message if you have an appointment scheduled during this time. In the meantime, we are hoping everyone is staying safe and home! We miss our patients and we are hoping to be up and running very soon. Warmly, Dr. Kingston & Staff

****OFFICE UPDATE***** Healthy Smiles Dental is committed to keeping everyone, including staff and patients, safe during these unprecedented times. For that reason, we have decided to temporarily close our practice for non-essential care to help prevent the spread of the COVID-19 virus. This decision was not made lightly but is necessary in order to protect our patients and staff after reading updated recommendations from the CDC, ADA, and OSHA. If you have a scheduled appoi...ntment during this period of temporary closure, you will be receiving either a phone call, text or email within the next few days. Please disregard any text or email notifications of upcoming appointments for the next 3 weeks. We believe this closure will help us to more effectively evaluate this dynamic situation and assist in the social distancing recommended universally at this time. We will be checking voicemail messages periodically (717.945.7440) and responding via email ([email protected]). If you are experiencing a true dental emergency, please call our office and follow the instructions pertaining to a dental emergency. Dr. Kingston will have some scheduled days available for essential care and emergency care during this time. We will be evaluating the situation as the days and weeks progress. Once we feel that it is safe to re-open the practice, we will do so. Until then, please stay safe, stay in tune with our social media Facebook and don’t hesitate to be in touch with us in the coming weeks. Thank you for your understanding during this time and know that the team at Healthy Smiles Dental is looking out for the safety and health of everyone.

OVID-19 Update: We will Remain OPEN At HSD we take your health and well-being serious. Dr Kingston and his staff want to reassure you that during this time of uncertainty, our office remains open. And we want you to feel comfortable knowing that you can keep your appointment with us... We plan to maintain business as usual for our employees and patients during this time of social distancing and the closing of schools and colleges. For those of you who may not have received our prior email, please feel secure in our daily practices to keep our office safe for our patients and our team. Your care is always performed in a clean and disinfected environment with sterile tools - whether for a cleaning or any other type of procedure. We follow universal precautions for every patient. Each room is disinfected using the highest standards recommended by the CDC and OSHA - including wipes or sprays that are effective in killing bacteria and viruses (including coronavirus). As a team, we are maintaining good health practices to protect both ourselves and you, our valued patient. We have increased our sanitizing of the reception area, frequently touched surfaces, and restrooms out of an abundance of caution. Each room has CDC approved anti-microbial hand soap and hand sanitizer. As a small business, at any given time we have less than 15 people in the office (including patients and staff). And your care is provided in a staff to patient ratio of 2:1 or 1:1. Bottom line: You can feel confident of your well being and health when you come in for your appointment. Our office is still and always has been a safe place for you. Should you have any questions, please feel free to call the office at 717-945-7440. Having said all of this, if you have the following symptoms, we kindly as that you call to reschedule: Fever Respiratory illness with fever Dry Cough with fever Thank you for your understanding and cooperation as we negotiate this time with you.
