Happy #HearingFactFriday !
#TBT to this act of kindness! This past summer, Adam DiPasquale made 45 masks for Hearing Unlimited staff members in an effort to help them and their patients stay safe during the COVID-19 pandemic. Adam is a cousin to Amber Hertzog, who is an HIS at Hearing Unlimited in the North Huntingdon location. Adam has also provided face shields for Mutual Aid, Greensburg and local police departments, local fire departments, members of the community, and more. Adam also made ear saver...s. Ear savers provide a solution for hearing aid users whose face mask straps are getting caught on the hearing aids causing patient's to lose their hearing aids or get the hearing aids tangled in the face mask straps. As a small thank you to Adam and his efforts to keep us safe, Hearing Unlimited donated $450 in his name to a charity of his choosing. Thank you, Adam for your help this past summer and for this reminder to help out our community!
Which one of your loved ones should enjoy the Gift of Hearing? Nominate anyone who could benefit from a complimentary pair of hearing aids. Submit your nominations before December 31, 2020!
Research currently suggests that hearing aids take some strain off of an overworked brain, which may prevent deterioration that leads to dementia.
Meet the team! Todd Saxon is a State of Pennsylvania licensed Hearing Instrument Specialist. Prior to entering the hearing industry, he worked as an executive for several media and advertising companies. He started his career as a hearing specialist in 2011. His mission is to improve lives through better communication by providing quality hearing instruments at a fair price. Mr. Saxon oversees the Hearing Unlimited House Calls Program. He manages all aspects of hearing equipment maintenance, as well as the ordering of hearing instruments and supplies, interactions with external vendors, and marketing and advertising efforts. He loves being able to help those with hearing loss and to see the improvement in patients’ lives, and the lives of their loved ones.
Our vision is a world where better hearing healthcare can minimize and eliminate the health and financial costs associated with dementia, falls, social isolation and other medical conditions
The percentage of the population with mild or greater hearing impairment is twice as high for people with diabetes than for people without diabetes. If you have diabetes or a family history related to hearing loss, talk to an audiologist to see if you are at risk for hearing loss and how your quality of life can be improved.
