Filling barrels... since Saturday the sap has been rolling in. Trying my best to stay ahead of my sap storage capacity. Was up until 330 last night. Cooked 4000 gallons since Saturday. Tonight is last night of freezing temps until next weekend so the flow should progressively slow as the week goes on. Supposed to get cooler again next week with freezing nights again.

It finally broke loose yesterday afternoon. In the last 24 hours I’ve hauled 2200 gallons from main woods and 350 from new woods. These photos of the tanks were from around 415 this afternoon. Another 1000 gallons in main woods tank and 1400 gallons in tank at new woods. Looks like it’s going to be a long night...

New pans are doing awesome! Cooking a lot more sap with same amount of wood and making more syrup per hour than ever. Almost boiling to well at times sap is splashing over sides and onto outside of pan. Here is a video of the evaporator in action today. Have a great weekend!

Sap flow has been slow and steady since Tuesday. Picked up some yesterday and steady today. Collected around 3300 gallons of sap since Wednesday morning. Down to less than a 1000 to cook. Should run decent tomorrow and then freeze hard Friday night and should be small runs over the weekend. Weather looks good for sap for next 10 days. Nothing really warm but upper 30’s to low 40’s during day and lows in mid twenties for the most part. Should run some almost everyday. I’d rather deal with slow and steady sap flow than gusher days that I can’t keep up. We’ll post another update next week.

First boil of the season went well. Sap ran slow but steady until this morning when the temperature dropped to freezing. Temperature really plummeted this evening. Supposed to be 10 by tomorrow morning. Maybe a little sap Wednesday but then cold until next Monday. Next weeks weather looks good for sap.
