Our farm at Highland Orchards in West Chester has done a lot of growing since its beginnings in 1941. One thing that hasn't changed over the years is the attention we give to growing the best quality crops possible and sharing them with our customers. All aboard! Our socially distanced guests are all smiles as they depart for apple picking. We are operating our reduced capacity shuttle service on weekends and offering a self drive option during the week for those who are not as comfortable. Online reservations are required so we can flatten the curve and limit the number of folks participating each hour. Good news and bad news: First the bad news. All of our Gala apples have been picked from our trees, we will run out of our own juicy peaches in our market tomorrow, and we mourn the loss of a dear friend at Linvilla Orchards. Now the good news: Our market is open Labor Day Monday 9-4:00. Pick your own Honey Crisp is still plentiful and Smokehouse and Jonathan varieties are now available, we will have tons of delicious fresh picked sweet corn and we still have bushels and ...bushels of locally grown veggies available tomorrow. Oh, did we mention we will be making our apple cider donuts and have a great supply of apple cider to compliment them? On this Labor Day we are especially thankful for all of our employees who have put great effort into making our farm safe and sound during this awful Covid-19 year. Our market and PYO will remain closed on Mondays except we will open 9-4 on Labor Day, Yom Kippur, and Columbus Day Mondays.
