Tip tuesday: Make sure you put in the work! I can only do so much for you by creating the workout, it's up to you to show up AND push your body to the limit. Just showing up won't build muscle or raise those heart rates. If you're already up, might as well get the most benefit out of your time by pushing yourself! -Coach Allie :)

Happy Friday Zenners! So as you could already tell, changes are in the works to continue to improve our workout program. So far we have incorporated some new aspects of the workout, such as the stations. Next we have a few more details that will help improve Zen Fitness. Firstly, the name is now HIIT 33! We decided to use this name because each workout takes 33 minutes to complete and HIIT stands for High Intensity Interval Training. This type of training mode uses a combina...tion of high intensity and low intensity intervals to bring the heart rate up and burn fat in a very efficient way. Our second change includes our class schedules. Our former classes included a 5 am and a 6 am. We are now going to be open from 5 am til 6:45 am. Within this timeframe, you can show up whenever is convenient for you. So if you wake up at 5:25, you can come in at 5:25 and start your workout. We hope this makes it more convenient for the members of our program to attend! The whole workout will take you 33 minutes; however, if you are short on time one day, you can come for as little as you’d like. Visa versa, if you have extra time that morning, feel free to complete the circuits twice! We will be implementing these changes this Monday, December 4th. Each class will incorporate kickboxing, so bring your gloves to class everyday! We are excited about the changes and hope the program continues to grow! Have a great weekend, Coach Allie

TIP TUESDAY: this is a lifestyle, not a quick fix! you have to be consistent each day and be realistic. Eat that piece of chocolate if you want it. If you stop after that piece, you're still living a healthy life. Everything has to be in moderation if you want results that last. -Coach Allie :)

Tip Tuesday: A great way to notice the change in your body is to take progress photos. Once a month, take a picture from the front, back, and side. Then compare them to your previous months photos! you might not notice it from day to day, but you're hard work is paying off :) -Coach Allie :)

Exercise creates a happy, healthier mind and body, and we have the ability to do it. so as you do those burpees, think about how lucky you are to be able to simply jump up in the air! -Coach Allie :)

TIP TUESDAY: step off the scale! that number doesn't tell you how strong you are or how healthy you are. Muscle weighs more than fat, so the number can mess with your mind. Another method to try is measurements. Take out the measuring tape and track it in a little notebook. Don't take them more than once a month, and take the next set of measurements one month later. You will see the progress much better than the number on the scale can tell you. -Coach Allie :)

Okay, team for the Month of May we're going to talk all about added Sugar. Challenge yourself this month and cut it from your diets, better yet give it all up! I'm not specifically talking about fruit, yes fruit has sugar but, fruit also has fiber which helps slow down the adsorption rate of sugar and help to avoid crashes, and contains other vitamins and nutrients. Healthier sugar options include honey, agave, maple syrup, ETC. If you know you can't handle it and have major sugar cravings, cut it completely out of your diet! It's only 30 days.... GOOD LUCK!
