New Limited Mitigation Efforts

The Hellertown Borough Council and Administration announced that Community Day 2020 is hereby cancelled due to COVID 19, as this is primarily supported through business and community sponsorship. Because of the prolonged closures and financial hardships they feel it’s best to come back in 2021 after this crisis is past us.

On Friday, November 27, 2020 at 7:00 p.m. Facebook Tree Lighting Ceremony (watch this in the comfort of your home). Saturday, November 28, 2020 - 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. - Lights in Morris J. Dimmick Park - Hop in your car to drive through Morris J. Dimmick Park to see Santa and other vendors that will be handing out goodies to you when you drive through. Sunday, November 29 - 8:30 a.m. - 12 p.m. - Sign up to chat with Santa. Although the Saucon Valley High School is currently closed as a result of recently reported COVID cases, the high school will remain open for voting for Hellert...own Borough Ward 3 (formerly Saucon Valley Community Center) and Lower Saucon Township District 1 (those who normally vote at the high school). The gym area has been cleaned and disinfected for the safety of all voters and volunteers. See more

The public is advised that the Saucon Valley Compost Center will be closing on Saturday, November 21, 2020 for the remainder of 2020, but will be open from 9:00... a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 9, 16, and 23, 2021 accepting Christmas trees and yard waste. Trick-or-Treat will take place in Lower Saucon Township and Hellertown on Saturday, October 31, 2020 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. NO RAIN DATE. Residents intere...sted in participating are asked to keep their porch lights on during this two-hour period to ensure the safety of all those participating. Parents are advised to accompany their children as they go around the neighborhood and should check all candy and treats prior to children eating them. Take flashlights with fresh batteries for all children and their escorts. If your older children are going alone, plan and review the route that is acceptable to you. Agree on a specific time when they should return home.
