The Indiana County District Attorney’s Drug Task Force, including officers from the Indiana Borough Police Department and Chief Jellison and Thor from the Homer City Police Department, the Pennsylvania State Police, ATF and the Attorney General’s Bureau of Narcotics partnered in this case. Officers took Kyle Rider of Homer City into custody as part of this operation. Mr. Rider is currently lodged in the Indiana County Jail. Also seized were four rifles, a zip gun and over $4500.00 in cash. The Drug Task Force will be seeking the forfeiture of the funds and intends to use it to fund future Drug Task Force operation. The Drug Task Force will continue to gather information relating to drug trafficking operations and partnering with all local, state and federal agencies with the unified goal of disrupting and dismantling these drug trafficking operations said Manzi. Every time we stop a drug trafficking operation, we are saving lives, removing unwanted activities from local communities and making our streets safer. Every person, every family, every kid deserves to live free of the concerns of drugs in their community. Law Enforcement break up large methamphetamine operation in Indiana Borough In a coordinated effort, local and state law enforcement agents stoppe...d a local methamphetamine operation in Indiana Borough. Members of the Indiana Borough Police Department, the District Attorney’s Drug Task Force and the Office of the Attorney General’s Bureau of Narcotics Investigation collaborated in this investigation. On Friday, October 9, 2020, a warrant was served to search a residence on the 500 block of Church Street. Police were able to seize a large quantity of methamphetamine with a street value of over $10,000, heroin with a street value of over $2,000, over $18,000 in cash and four firearms. At least one firearm has been confirmed as stolen property. This investigation stopped a significant amount of serious drugs from being distributed throughout our county. Not only were these drugs seized but, by breaking up this delivery operation, untold amounts of methamphetamine and heroin will not be sold on our streets by these individuals said Bob Manzi. Cases like this highlight the great work of our law enforcement agencies. Members of the Indiana Borough Police Department, including Chief Justin Schawl, Det. John Scherf, Det. Leroy Anderson and PFC. Adam Lewis, along with members of the District Attorney’s Drug Task Force, including Homer City’s Police Chief Anthony Jellison and K9 Thor, work together each and everyday to make our county a safer place for our families. Several individuals were taken into custody on Friday, including Ruby Gil and Nicholas Beard, on charges of possession of controlled substances with the intent to deliver. The Office of the District Attorney anticipates more charges being filed from this investigation.
