Dear HONEY Family, We wanted to take a moment and let you know that our beloved friend and coworker, Chelsea Mitchell, is leaving HONEY to pursue her dream of owning a record store. She recently took over the Newtown Book & Record Exchange from long time owner, Bobbie Lewis. Her tenacity, creativity, dependability and attention to detail, as well as her inherent sense of hospitality and of course, her love and knowledge of music and literature make her uniquely qualifi...ed to carry the business successfully well into the future. We’ve always admired her grace, poise, and strength in the face of adversity, as well as her kind and loving treatment of her fellow human and animal friends. Kind, sweet, funny, smart, loyal, trustworthy, talented, and a damn good baker of insanely delicious treatshow do you replace someone like that?! Chelsea, you left big shoes to fill! But we couldn’t be more proud of you!! You’ve given us so many wonderful times over these past 8 years and have been so integral in thousands of fond memories of your customers. Talk about good karma, Chelsea, you have it in spades! May it all manifest in your new venture, as well as your personal musical career. We know Covid has made your love of performance impossible, but it will happen again! And when it does, we will be there in your audience cheering you on again. In the meantime, enjoy your new business and know that as difficult as it can sometimes be, it does get easier. You’ve got what it takes to make it work. We can’t think of anyone better suited for entrepreneurship than you. Don’t forget to enjoy the ride! So friends, please go support Chelsea’s new business and be sure to check out her band, Dirty Dollhouse, in which she was a past winner of the Tri-State Indie Vocalist of the Year award. Her music is inspired by folk, country, and pop, just about creating a brand new intimate genre of her own. What an amazing catalog of albums! You won’t be disappointed. Chelsea, we love you and we’ll miss you dearly, but just know that the difference you made at HONEY lives on in the high level of service you helped us create. We can’t thank you enough.
