Another Friday another cigar pairing with our friends at @astarterandachaserpodcast Aging Room Quattro Nicaragua With brass knuckles on the label and a very peppery start Aging Room did a fantastic job making a cigar with some attitude. With a dark chocolate brown wrapper that is almost soft, and slightly oily. This cigar won cigar of the year in 2019. Initially you get a pepper bomb when first lighting up but it mellows out quickly into a rich dark chocolate, cedar treat. D...eeper into the first third notes of coffee, peanuts and a strong cedar flavor. The retrohale is mostly pepper. The smoke output is through the roof. So far this is full bodied with medium nicotine strength, it leaves an earthy tasting finish in my mouth. In the second third that peanut flavor comes back blending real well with the coffee flavors. The chocolate note is now front and center in the second third. It dominates the flavor of the cigar which is really nice. In the final third it doesn’t really deviate from this. The main change is its becoming very peppery. Been a long time since I've had this little gem! Un-earthly IPA from @stbcbeer is a triple dry hopped Double IPA and it's just as good as I remember it! Crisp caramel malt profile and boy do the hops quickly dominate the beer. Slightly dank hop profile with orange, a dash of grass, and a hint of grapefruit and pine. Extremely well balanced and drinkable but definitely leas towards the hoppy side of The Force.

And I have read and studied its meaning and origins and expound on my own findings. My own interpretation. Words at the proper time, in the right situation, at precisely the right moment - are those fitly spoken. In this parable, the apples of gold in settings of silver likely referenced grand works of art, sculpted of gold and inlaid and/or displayed in fine silver platter or basket or woven art where there is a contrast in the rich colors. To say the least, imagine your favorite sculpture by Michelangelo, Rodin or Sol LeWitt - there on display, before you for all to observe - and yet you stand behind it, at a small wooden lectern, with your words of the day or speech prepared to deliver - to reach the people, to enter into their minds and hearts and to garner their attention - the words had better be good, had better hit their mark or you have lost your audience. Hard to imagine such words of consequence would be on the tip of ones tongue with such beauty before you. Is now the right time for those words, is the audience appropriate, was your inflection and energy fluent? So the challenge for me, when the time comes, when a message of great importance must be delivered I pray for the words, for the articulation and emotion to penetrate through the surrounding beauty, the sights, sounds, and treasures so that I too can offer those words fitly spoken! God is Good. The Manzanita or little apples pay tribute to influential people and share a deep history of tobaccos but we honor and are reminded that it’s - Soli Deo Gloria
