Here's another fun history fact about your undergraduate student union. To commemorate Houston Hall's 2000 reopening, the Penn community came together and created a Millenium Time Capsule, memorializing student life at the turn of the millenium. Today the time capsule sits quietly within the walls of the main lobby (pictured below). In fact, you may have walked by the Millenium Time Capsule and not even noticed it! It's scheduled to be opened during Penn's 300th Anniversary in 2040 (side note: that's only 20 years away ) What do you think is inside the time capsule? #upenn #studentlife #houstonhall

It was great to see this familiar scene during Penn's 264th Commencement. The phrase on this gate holds true to Penn's spirit and determination. "We will find a way or we will make one". Congratulations to the Class of 2020! We can't wait to see how you change the world! #upenn #universityofpennsylvania #houstonhall #studentlife #classof2020

Dr. Amy Gutmann gave us an uplifting message amidst this pandemic, where she encouraged us Quakers to be resilient during these trying times and reminded us that our struggles will only be temporary. Check out her message here, along with other University updates: https://coronavirus.upenn.edu/ #upenn #universityofpennsylvania #studentlife

During these tough times, we all need uplifting messages of hope. ISSS has collected a bunch of hopeful messages from students in their native languages. Check out the hashtag #StayStrongPenn to see your fellow students messages and send some of your own to your fellow Quakers! #upenn #universityofpennsylvania #studentlife #houstonhall

Last year, Houston Hall hosted an Oscar watch party for all the students at the Bistro. The students enjoyed popcorn, refreshments, and fellowship all night.

#tbt to Last Valentine's Day when Houston Hall hosted a card making session for students and staff to design a card for a special someone. While you're at home, you can host a card making session yourselves, for the essential workers on the front lines making sure we receive what we need to stay healthy, safe, and fed.

In the midst of all the chaos of the coronavirus pandemic, Penn students have found a way to turn this sad occasion into something positive. Six Penn undergraduates and one Cornell student founded Lockdown Letters, an organization that motivates people to write personalized letters of appreciation to the frontline workers, putting their lives on the line to provide services for us. Check out the article posted online by @dailypenn to learn more about their initiative and figure out what you can do to support their cause! https://www.thedp.com//penn-lockdown-letters-coronavirus-h
