Dear BEA Community: Here is an update on our Covid cases throughout the district. Currently there are 5 cases at the MS/HS over the past two weeks. Wingate Elementary has had 2 cases, while Howard, Mountaintop, and Port Matilda have zero cases. We have several staff quarantined because they were close contacts to positive cases. ... Thank you, Scott V. Graham Superintendent

Dear BEA Community: This is a reminder that the 2 hour delay scheduled for Monday, April 12 has been cancelled. School will begin at the usual time. The final two delays scheduled for April 26 and May 10 will still occur as planned. Last night, the Board approved opening the track and tennis courts on weekends through the end of the school year. We are working on times and Mr. Dyke will be getting that information out to everyone.... I will be updating you on our Covid cases for the week later today or over the weekend. Thank you, Scott V. Graham Superintendent

We are once again partnering up with the YMCA of Centre County for another Farmers to Families Food Distribution Event from 4:00 - 6:00 PM on Wednesday, April 7th. The distribution will take place in front of the Middle and High School. There will be enough boxes of food to help 1200 families. Because of bus traffic we ask that you begin ARRIVING AT 3:45pm.

Dear BEA Community: I want to give you our weekly update with Covid cases in the district. Unfortunately, we saw an increase of cases, some occurring over the weekend. At the high school, we had one additional case and a two-week rolling average of three cases. We have two cases at Wingate, one at Port Matilda, and one at Mountain Top. All cases were students with the exception at Mountain Top where we had an adult test positive. The student cases also quarantined several... students and adults, including staff and bus/van drivers. This seems to be the trend across the state and parts of the country of increasing number of cases. As a reminder, if anyone in your household is ill with Covid-like symptoms or your children have symptoms, even if they are similar to seasonal allergies, please contact your physician and/or err on the side of caution by keeping them home. We have seen several examples of that over the course of the year and it has turned out to be Covid. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me or your child's school nurse. I will continue to keep you updated. Happy Easter and a reminder that there will be no school on Friday, April 2 but school will be in session on Monday, April 5 due to a snow make-up day. Sincerely, Scott V. Graham Superintendent See more

Howard Elementary School celebrated the 100th day of school today. Students had so much fun. Check out some of these side by side pictures of students showing what they would look like if they were 100 years old.

Dear BEA Community: I wanted to give you an update on Covid cases for the week. Wingate has had four student cases this week, two of them just this morning. That puts our rolling average at 5 cases. I am monitoring this situation with Mrs. Botsdorf and Mr. O. If we have an additional case over the next 7 days, I will need to contact the epidemiologist in Harrisburg and discuss the situation with her. Luckily, she has been very flexible and looked at each case individuall...y. We have had 2 cases at the high school, one student and one adult and 1 case at Mountaintop this week. Both Howard and Port Matilda have not reported any cases this week. I am monitoring the weather for Monday. I recommend the students take home their materials that they need in case we need to use a Flexible Instructional Day on Monday. Right now, I am watching the forecast and will continue to do so over the weekend. Have a wonderful weekend, Scott V. Graham Superintendent
