Hunting Park Christian Academy

Our 6th grade students had a fun lab in Mrs. Nesbitt's science class today, examining the characteristics of different minerals through a microscope. To make sure our virtual students still got to join in the activity, Mrs. Nesbitt utilized her document camera as a microscope. We are so grateful for our teachers branching into creative avenues to make hybrid learning an enjoyable and interactive experience for all our students!

Our awesome 2nd-grade teacher, Mrs. Caro, has gotten creative and taken to Tik Tok with her class content! We wanted to give you a little peek into Wacky Wednesday in her classroom. It is even more important to be able to have silly time when there are hard things like a pandemic around us!

Our Assistant Principal, Mrs. Figueiredo, helped get students registered to vote in this year's mock election today. She helped them understand the voting process and the difference between our two political parties. Our hope is to help students shape their voice and become informed, Christ-following participants in society from a young age!

Miss Janira joined our staff this year to oversee the children of our staff on their virtual days. On the days she is not doing this, she has been using her training in dance to lead our pre-k students in a Zumbini class. She is passionate about using this education in music and movement to "nurture our students' social, emotional, cognitive and spiritual development." It has been such a wonderful way for our pre-k students to be holistically active while still keeping safely distant from each other!

Each month, HPCA has a school-wide memory verse related to our theme, "Leaning on the Everlasting Arms." Even with online chapel, students are still able to recite the memory verses by emailing videos. Check out this kindergarten student reciting John 16:33. Great job!
