The snow added a little something extra to our Church Street holiday decor, don't you think? We hope you all stayed safe and warm during the storm! Now here's a question for you: do you love or hate the snow?

Check it out! Joe is always creating new inventions... his latest project is a face mask made with scrap fabric from the pocket of an old pair of jeans. How resourceful is that? Keep up your sustainable fashion, Joe!!

Brit has been staying busy cooking, crafting, and getting ready for Christmas! We know you all missed her smiling face, so she is here to grace your timeline! On another note: we hope everyone stays safe during this snowstorm! Hopefully it won't delay Santa and his helpers... luckily, they have some Christmas magic on their side.

Amber stepped up and filled in at the Park Street Cafe! We're so proud of her incredible work ethic and willingness to help out. You rock, Amber! Park Street Cafe is a popular lunch hotspot where our friends volunteer their time to make and serve delicious meals. Stop by, say hi, and grab a bite to eat! HRC & Human Resources Foundation joined Victims Intervention Program in Honesdale Central Park in remembrance of all those who died in Wayne County due to domestic violence. Domestic violence is an important issue that resonates strongly with individuals in the human services field. Unfortunately, statistics show that individuals with disabilities are nearly twice as likely to experience domestic violence in their lifetime than those unafflicted with a disability. According ...the US Department of Justice, police only respond to about 77% reports of domestic abuse when victims are identified as individuals with disabilities. In investigated cases, only 10% of perpetrators were arrested. Thank you, VIP, for supporting victims in the community and helping them to escape potentially life-threatening situations. October is National Disability Employment Awareness month! Joining the workforce is an important goal for many of our friends at HRC -- luckily, the Community Integrated Employment department is here to support them! CIE is an awesome program that helps individuals find fulfilling job options that pay and provide real-life work experience. HRC partners with many local businesses to match individuals with open positions in the community. As you can see, our friends at HRC work... hard and are considered to be invaluable to their employers! We couldn't be more proud of all our friends working out in the community. To learn more about HRC's employment services, check out our website here: https://www.hrcinc.org/employment-services!

Beth meets her new pup, Lucky! Beth lost her dog when her Lifesharing home tragically burned down. With her birthday coming up, her Lifesharing provider, Linda, decided to surprise her with an adopted puppy from Dessin Animal Shelter! One of our awesome staff, Megan, captured this sweet moment where Beth meets Lucky for the very first time.

It's National Boss Appreciation Day! We wanted to take a moment to share our appreciation for our CEO, Darlene Glynn. Darlene is an inspiration to us all at HRC as both a leader as well as an advocate for our consumers. She has devoted her life to serving individuals with disabilities and upholds HRC's mission daily. To learn more about Darlene, please check out her profile here: https://www.hrcinc.org/meet-the-ceo. We would also like to thank HRC's leadership team as a whole. We are so very lucky to have a network of passionate and dedicated leaders within our agency that oversee HRC's departments and programs. There are many "bosses" that allow HRC's mission come to fruition each day, and we are so grateful that they are part of the HRC family.
