If you ordered but did not pay, your shirt did NOT get ordered. Pick ups are available from 11am-3pm Thursday and 1pm-3pm on Friday. Senate Bill 1281, the amended Move Over Bill to offer stricter penalties and clearer language is in danger of not being passed this leg...islative session due to another amendment made in the Pennsylvania House of Representatives earlier today. The added amendment is reported to add a requirement to move over for any disabled vehicle along the side of the roadway which could delay the legislation until the next legislative term or beyond and was introduced by Representative William Kortz, Allegheny County. While we aren’t opposed to motorists moving over for disabled vehicles, this amendment could cause a delay that could further place emergency responders in danger. We are asking that if you are so inclined to: 1. Contact your local House of Representative Member and urge them to revert back to Printer Number 1908 which would allow the Bill to go directly to the Governor to be signed into law (this is the original Senate Bill) 2. Contact your local House of Representative Member and urge them to support the Bill with Printer Number 1943 which would include an amendment which would extend the delay which the Bill would take effect from 60 day to 180 days and require the Bill to return to the Senate for a concurrence on the amendment 3. Contact your local House of Representative Member and urge them to defeat the Kortz amendment. This week is an extremely important week for Pennsylvania Senate Bill 1281, an enhanced Move Over Law. Senate Bill 1281 is expected to receive second considera...tion in the Pennsylvania House Appropriations Committee tomorrow, Monday October 19th. If the committee votes to concur (agree) with Senate Bill 1281 it will then move to the full Pennsylvania House for 3rd consideration for the full House to concur. It is hoped that this consideration (vote) will occur on Tuesday, October 20th If/when the House votes to concurs with SB1281 the bill will move back to the Full Pennsylvania Senate to concur with a House amendment that was added to the bill. If/once both the House and Senate concur the legislation will then go to the governor to sign the Bill into law. 3 votes, 3 days... for an enhanced Move Over Law Emergency responders need this to happen. Increased public awareness, increased penalties. Even one responder vehicle, responder or motorist being struck, being injured or being killed is one too many, we need your support z we need your voice - SLOW DOWN MOVE OVER.

This morning, the Pennsylvania House of Representatives Transportation Committee unanimously concurred with SB1281, the enhanced Move Over Law that was co-sponsored by Senator Doug Mastriano and Senator Kim Ward as the prime sponsors. An amendment was added to SB1281 which would increase the effective date of the legislation when signed into law from 60 days to 180 days. This increase would allow for PennDOT to update their internal systems to account for the 2 points accesse...d for violating the Move Over Law as well as to allow PennDOT to update the Driver Exam Manuals for new drivers to reflect the new changes. We need all of you to ACT NOW to contact the Pennsylvania House Leadership as well as the House Appropriation Committee to get this legislation on the House Calendar TOMORROW, this cannot wait and we need your help. EMERGENCY RESPONDERS NEED YOUR HELP! Pennsylvania Senate Bill 1281, an enhanced Move Over Law passed the Pennsylvania Senate by unanimous vote 49-0 last week. This week, the Pennsylvania House of Representatives will begin the process to concur or agree with the Bill so it can move to the Governor’s desk for his signing this bill into law. We are asking for your assistance to help ensure that the members of the Pennsylvania House of Representatives vote YES for this bill ...WITHOUT AMENDMENT. Senate Bill 1281 is scheduled to be introduced to the Pennsylvania House Transportation Committee on Wednesday, September 30th, it is our hope that the House Transportation Committee will vote unanimously to concur with this legislation WITHOUT AMENDMENT. We are asking each and everyone of you to take a few seconds from your day to call, email or post a message to the Pennsylvania House Transportation Committee members social media pages. Today, families of fallen responders, survivors of struck by incident and Pennsylvania’s Emergency Responders were honored as the Senate of Pennsylvania UNANIMOUSLY passed SB1281, the Move Over Law. During general session of the Senate, the Bill was supported by testimony from Sponsor Senator Mastriano, Co-Sponsor Senator DiSanto and a moving testimony from EMS Responder Mark Ford as read by Senator Lindsey Williams. SB1281 will now move to the House of Representatives for their concurrence and we look forward to it being placed on the calendar at the earliest possible date.
