Good day, all! We would like to welcome you to Embrace the Tree: Eco tour and writing workshop an event hosted by Art Education Interns in Art Alley! This event will take place in person on the University's upcoming Wellness Day, April 7th from 5pm to 6pm! This week we are going to share a bit more about When the Bough Breaks, the exhibition that inspired this workshop. Organizer Susanne Slavick paired artists and poets who embraced the tree to talk about climate change and... tree based issues. We encourage you to bring your creativity and engage in meaningful discussions about art and the trees while enhancing your physical and environmental wellness! The Annual Graduate Research Exhibition challenges students to present their work to University wide audiences. Candidates works demonstrate the significance of their ideas and creative research and Individuals whose works and presentations are judged best will receive monetary awards. ... The Annual Graduate Research Exhibition celebrates research in all its aspects as an essential and exciting part of graduate education at Penn State. Established in 1986, the Graduate Exhibition places special emphasis on communicating research and creative endeavor to a general audience and offers an opportunity for professional development by challenging graduate students to present their work in clear, comprehensible terms to people outside their fields. Reserve a flower in your name and leave a message for the lost lives remembered in Hostile Terrain 94. There will be marigolds and mums from the student farm available for free on the 12th and 13th. If you cant be there, sign up and we will place a flower and message for you. link to reserve a flower - https://docs.google.com//1FAIpQLSexT2ljXqlRn1VT8e/viewform The marigold is the dominant flower used during Dia de los Muertos or Day of the Dead, a celebration that originate...d in Mexico on November 1st and 2nd that honors the lives of friends and family members who have died. Known as the Flower of the Dead or Flor de Muerto, the marigold is said to attract the souls of the dead. During this important celebration, grave sites are decorated with marigolds and the flowers are used to decorate private altars or ofrendas constructed in honor of those passed. See more

It is with great honor that we present a completed Hostile Terrain 94 installation in Art Alley. Over 400 people of the Penn State Community and beyond have taken part in this project. We mailed tags, local drop offs, and even had a virtual option. Thank you to everyone involved, but especially Sarah Kipp, lead installer.... Now please, go vote tommorrow, NOV 3 if you are able!!
