We're excited to introduce you to Yao Harumiyan Fonyuy! Since 2016, Yao has been the leader of our Library Program in Kumbo, Cameroon. Yao leads after-school programs, children’s literacy courses, computer training programs, spelling bees, and our summer education programs. Yao's enthusiasm for sharing knowledge continues to inspire joy, empowerment, and a love for learning. Thank you, Yao, for all that you do!
Over the next few weeks, we'd like to give you the opportunity to get to know our humanitarian staff in Cameroon and at our headquarters here in Honesdale, Pennsylvania. If this past year has taught us anything, it's the importance of celebrating the PEOPLE we live and work with each day. We're all interconnected in more ways than we sometimes realize. That's why we're highlighting and honoring the members of our team and sharing their work with the world. Stay tuned for this exciting series!
Learning colors last month! #cameroon #publiclibraryprogram
In the months of January and February, our amazing staff in Cameroon reached 699 people through our public health seminars. We're well on our way to our goal of reaching 3,200 people by the end of this year! Great job, team!! #PublicHealth #Cameroon
Planting seeds in Totonaca, Mexico back in 2013. Since 1971, each and every one of our community-led humanitarian initiatives have supported our core mission to eradicate poverty, disease, and illiteracy through education, health care, and job creation. #FlashbackFriday #totonaca #mexico #himalayaninstitute
