Reason #9 Drivers that are licensed to drive school buses are one of the most highly trained drivers on the road. Not only do they attend 14 hours of classroom and at least 6 hours of in-bus training to get their CDL and endorsements, they must take recertification classes and tests every 4 years to maintain their license. Not easily attained but it's a profession that they are proud to be part of and should be respected for! Next time you see a school bus driver, say thanks....thanks for getting my children to school safely!

Reason#8 Did you know that School buses are required to meet higher construction, equipment, and inspection standards than any other vehicle? They're built with a steel frame, capable of withstanding 120,000 psi, 14" steel bumpers, countless reflective points and lights, signs and emergency exits. Did I mention that they are inspected every 6 months by a certified mechanic and yearly by PA State Police! The greatest risk to children being transported is the failure of other drivers to obey the law: Stop in both directions when the bus’s red lights are flashing and the stop arm is extended. This high performance standard is no coincidence, it’s the commitment to safety!

Reason#6 School buses facilitate learning beyond the classroom. Students go on field trips every year starting from Kindergarden. These opportunities would not be possible for most of us if there wasn't any school buses! It's refreshing to watch youngsters experience new and maybe even challenging adventures. Come join the fun!

Reason #5 School Buses play an essential role in the sports arena! Teams all travel together in a bus to get to their sports event. This is an important time for any athlete. Spirits are lifted, team bonds are formed, strategic plans are made! Become a sports driver, be a part of the excitement, root for your home team!

Reason#4 School buses are fun to drive! Many bus drivers say that they would rather drive a bus than their own vehicle. There's an old saying amongst drivers that the bus seems to get shorter with every year you drive. The view is awesome, you are king of the road!

Reason#3 School buses are efficient! They can shuttle dozens of students at a time. This takes the place of dozens of passenger cars on the road and around the schools, reducing traffic for everybody. This also saves time and money for parents!

Reason#2 Buses are an American-made product! Not only was the very idea of the yellow school bus developed in the United States but these vehicles continue to be built domestically.
