I grew up in the suburbs of Philly and moved to the beautiful, sprawling and rural area of Berks/Lancaster area in March of '07. When you just look at the pictures, you can't help but feel your blood pressure drop about 10 points!! The one picture with no cars on the road was taken on a Wednesday morning around 10AM!! You'll also enjoy seeing lots of farm animals (one of the pictures there's a little piglet sprawling around!!) I couldn't afford where I live now if it was i...n Chester, Bucks, or Montgomery Counties, but on the other hand I enjoy the QUALITY OF LIFE here without all the noise. A dollar goes A LOT further around here than there (lower taxes, more affordable housing, cheaper gas, less expensive paving a driveway, food shopping (you can't beat the fresh, local produce stands either!!) And dare I say, the neighbors are friendlier and more polite. Yes, traffic on the PA Turnpike (and local roads too) has gotten a little more hectic over the past 10 years (should I move even further west?), but it pales in comparison to traveling in the Chester/Bucks/Montgomery/Philly area, that's for sure!! - I95, Route 422, Route 202, Schuylkill Expressway, Route 1, the Blue Route; and it seems like they've been repairing Byberry Road since the late '70's!!! I've lived in several different cities, states, and countries over the years, but NOTHING compares to the Berks/Lancaster area. In my opinion, this is the closest to Utopia that anyone will ever find. I enjoy the 'fresh farm aroma' that wafts through the air; and horse & buggies pass by my home every single day!! So, if you're wanting to improve your quality of life and are REALLY interested in buying or renting in these neck of the woods, please let me know and I would be more than happy to schedule a walkthrough of properties for you, at any time. New businesses are popping up all around, GREAT schools, less stress; in other words - good ol'-fashioned BETTER LIVING is HERE!!
