". . . Really, I have translated for the best onestotally pure, spotless, compassionate. Buildings like stupas are shakablebodhisattvas aren’t shakable! With... Khenpo Karthar Rinpoche, the consistency in his patience was amazing. The consistency in his generosity, the consistency in his devotion. He’s strongphysically and emotionally. But when he talks about the suffering of sentient beings, he’s ready to shed tears every time. Again, when talking about the lineage masters and the Karmapa, he’s just in tears. There is a Tibetan saying, Those who have the opportunity to lean against a gold mountain, there’s some possibility a little gold will be rubbed off. Of course, I am not talking about me!" The Four Great Bodhisattva Vows slowly dawning... . Sentient beings are numberless. I vow to save them.... Desires are inexhaustible. I vow to put an end to them. The Dharmas are boundless. I vow to master them. The Buddha Way is unattainable. I vow to attain it. . Om Mani Padme Hum! . The Vow of a Fledgling Bodhisattva. . i vow to do the best i can each day to relieve the suffering of any being i see, or talk to, or write to, or of whom i become aware by any means. . i vow to be aware of what i "desire" and watch that desire fade in the Light. . i vow to practice Dharma each moment until the realization there are no vows, no desires, no sentient beings and no Buddha Way... . Nothing to attain, and nothing to follow. . Peace and Light and Love are already ours. They are our very heart! . Emaho! . Om Mani Padme Hum! . <3 to All. <3 See more

The Gyalwang Karmapa Felicitates His Holiness the Dalai Lama Capitol Visitor Center, Washington, D.C. July 11, 2018... In an elegant chamber of the Capitol Visitor Center, many from the House of Representatives had gathered to celebrate the eighty-third birthday of His Holiness the Dalai Lama. They included Nancy Pelosi, the House Democratic leader and long-time supporter of His Holiness, as well as Congresswoman Ileana Ros-Lehtinen, Congressman Jim McGovern, Congresswoman Claudia Tenney, Congressman John Culberson, and Congresswoman Katherine Clark. After the Arija Rinpoche offered prayers for the long life of His Holiness the Dalai Lama, Kalon Ngodup Tsering, the representative of His Holiness in North America, read a message from him. It concluded, Help others, and if you do not have the opportunity to do so, then at least refrain from harming them. That is the very best gift for my birthday. His talk was followed by the cutting of a huge birthday cake by the Gyalwang Karmapa, the Chief Guest for the occasion, who invited Nancy Pelosi and Jim McGovern to help him by placing their hands on the knife handle as well. Once this endeavor was complete, the Karmapa was invited to talk. He spoke spontaneously as he addressed those in the room. First I would like to offer my Tashi Delek to all who have gathered here in Congress to celebrate the birthday of His Holiness the Dalai Lama. Personally, I am very happy to be here on this special occasion. His Holiness is not only someone who is revered by all Tibetans, but he is also esteemed world-wide as a leader for world peace and well-being for everyone, so we celebrate his birthday as a day that is special and important to us all. It is a day when we think of His Holiness and also offer him support by committing ourselves from the depths of our hearts to work for world peace and happiness for every living being. This occasion is so joyful that it is hard to put feelings into words. Yet further, it is a time to reflect on the situation of the Tibetans in Tibet, who are not allowed to express their feelings about His Holiness and who are suffering great difficulties. Therefore, it is also a day for us Tibetans outside Tibet to dedicate ourselves even more to fulfilling His Holiness’s wishes and to supporting his compassionate vision. Thank you.

There is no way to be a good person without making any efforts, doing nothing. But if we bring to bear the sort of confidence and sincere determination that say...s, "I don’t care what happens; no matter what, I will be a good person in the world; it is not alright for everyone in the world to be deceitful, with bad intentions and behaving badly, so I myself will be a good person," in that case, I think at that point we can become good people without difficulty. I think it can basically come about without hardship. 17th Karmapa See more

Training in compassion is about shortening the distance we feel between ourselves as the one in a good situation who has compassion and others in a bad situatio...n who are the objects of our compassion. Fully accepting our involvement with people, we rely on the feeling that the two, subject with compassion and object of it, are not separate or different. In fact, when we engender true compassion, we are able to transfer ourselves into the situation of the one for whom we feel compassion and can fully accept their suffering.
