Ten years ago today we made it to the top of Uhuru peak of Kilimanjaro. After an all night climb we saw the first rays of light hit Africa as the sun rose over Mawenzi peak. We reached the crater rim at dawn, climbed past the remaining glaciers and summited about an hour later. I surreptitiously sprinkled a few of my father’s ashes at the summit in honor of his 1958 climb. I’d like to think we could still do this again ten years later. #uhuru #kilimanjaro
